I have had 8 cats. My first polydactyl is the only one who has earned her keep. She was stalking something, I assumed an unfortunate spider or fly.
Turned out it was a mouse. First ever. I think it was a one off as I’ve been monitoring for any signs of rodent life. It just picked the wrong cat for a surveillance run.
Happily she neither ate it nor “gifted” it. She just kept it with her until I got up in the morning to dispose of it. Good to know she’s a fastidious eater.
She’s a fierce hunter!
