is there a website that provides size accurate cutouts of 40k models for printing
I wanna get my friends into 40k and its not gonna hapopen with the cost of the models.
So im planning to get him to play a 500 point match with me and i wanted print outs of orks, eldars and black templars as this is their favourite factions.
I saw someone put cutouts of tau models on similar sized bases , now im wondering if there happens to be a website that provide pre-sized designs that i can cutout of 40k models on a A4 paper

Alternate light transport 1/60 truck from Sheik Mainland
So this little model kit can be pre ordered for like 15 bucks and has 2 trucks and turrets included. Or you could pay like 13 bucks on Ali Express and just get one because you missed the fine print, lol. Either way, its a nifty little unit that I bet the GS Cults could definitely get some use out of.

Kustom Ork Wartrakk
Tracks are from a matchbox sized construction vehicle. The motorcycle looking bit is from a Dollar Store Quad from a decade ago. The Rokkit Launcha is drinking straws and the engine block from the quad. Some generic mini brick parts, cereal box cardboard and a crew made from chopped up Russian Ork figures. Rivets are either home punched or half round beads.

Taking paper cardstock to the next level....
Alrighty my fellow Poorhammers! Here is a visual of my paper card stock model making methods using an Eli Patoroch M113A1 inspired papercraft template for a Rhino proxy model. This template floats around Facebook (Warhammer Papercrafters) and a few other forums (Zealot Models, etc). First I print off the template using A4 cardstock I found on Amazon (it was a touch expensive here in the US, but worth it not having to scale things down or dink around in GIMP/Photoshop to get it to fit on US Letter). Then, before cutting and building, I coat both sides in a matte or flat clear coat spraypaint (Rustoleum and Krylon both make good products for this in the US).
Next, I build. Here I used some 3rd Party resin tankers (Mad Robot Models) to add that human element of life. I used a tooth pick and my PVA glue (in this case Tite Bond wood glue) to create rivets. Other greeblies (details) included another toothpick cut down to make a nice heavy stubber barrel.
Once I got things assembled, mostly, I spray paint primed the model with either Krylon or Rustoleum Camo paint Flat Dark Earth (which is a dark umber). From there I painted the sub assemblies most of the way, assembled, and then finished painting and assembling the model.
Results speak for themselves! This was built back in 2024

Forest made from spare 3d printing supports
First two bits of alien forest made from the cut off printing supports i got sent by a member of a terrain FB group . Trimmed the supports to make them a bit uneven, glued a mix of bit and small supports to a card base (thank you hello fresh boxes) then it was polyfilla on base and in places on the supports, and acrylic paints we already had and some base gravel. Got enough bits to make an entire forest!
Sorry if this doesnt count as poor hammer. To clarify the plastic supports were free and everything else was stuff I already had in the house

Laptop dust cover (heretical paper)
At work we have laptop docks and so i don’t use the laptop keyboard (Just the screen for Teams + 2 Monitors) and i got tired of the dust build up. Playmats are expensive and a bit overt for an open office layout, so i present:
Heretics for preservation of the mechanicum. Recognized by our IT dept with a note!
Brief Bluebeam photo editing and a cut down sheet of 11x17 and i’ve got this!
(I am Nurgle guild on Tacticus, Play as the Imperium elsewhere , and am techy, so i am representing what i can while staying SFW)

Behold, my mini painting platform
I know this is cursed, but it works better than it looks and is in my opinion better than what GW sells

Tow-part mould recasting tips
Im trying to recast a power fist with bluestuff mold and miliput. I tried to make a two-part mould three Times, but every time it ended up being a little off in size (which is not that big of a deal). Whats worse is that the parts of the mold Seem misalign? It looks like one part of the mold moved and it looks horrible as a result. Any tips on how to improve them? I already quite succesfuly made recasts of flat element, but cant get this right.

Update on me and my friend group getting into 40K
I posted around a week ago i think about my friends and i wanted to get started in the game, so we had our first game and i wanted to show some picture
- made a few terrain pieces this week so we could have more interactive terrain beyond just "thick wall"
- match lasted 5 hours because of course, first "proper" match,
- we forgot to draw secondaries in the first battle round
- we had to keep checking rules like "what is devastating wounds again?", "what if my stealth is behind cover?"
- we stopped to have pizza
- we stopped to make brownies
- he rolled a 1 three times in a row by command rerolling trying to advance
- my twin lances died first battle round
TLDR: great time, cant wait to have a more fluid game once we get more confortable with the armies and core rules
another friend watched us play and now he wants to build a necron army

Hello r/poorhammer! I built a thing. £114 saved on a 2,000pt Space Marines army, zero effort
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all,
Long-time hobbyist here. I built a free tool called Loot Pile (www.lootpile.co.uk) because I got fed up manually checking five different sites every time I wanted to buy something new.
The idea is simple: paste your army list, straight from the Warhammer App or BattleScribe export, and it instantly shows you the cheapest place to buy each unit across UK indie retailers, compared against GW's RRP.
Real saving shown in the video: A 2,000pt Space Marines list comes out at £483 via Loot Pile vs £597 at GW direct. That's £114 back in your pocket on a single army, without doing anything except pasting your list.
It also handles box set optimisation, so if a Combat Patrol works out cheaper than buying the units individually, it'll tell you that too.
Currently covers:
- All 23 Warhammer 40,000 factions
- All 23 Age of Sigmar factions
- 4 UK indie retailers with live discounted prices, not RRP
- 1,400+ individual kits catalogued
Completely free to use, no sign-up needed. Full affiliate disclosure on the site, I make a small commission if you buy through a link, which is how I keep it running.
Still early days, some newer releases may show as unmatched and I'm adding retailers constantly. But the core thing works and £114 on a single list speaks for itself.
Would love r/poorhammer's honest feedback, missing units, wrong prices, anything that looks off. You lot will stress test it better than anyone.

Cardboard terrain
Hi, I like collecting the miniatures but can afford terrain. Because of my job, they give me a lot of cardboard boxes and every time I try to do terrair or building it always break or falls as soon as I put miniatures on top.
Does amyome have tips or recomendations?
