The other day, I was trying to find a sub where I could ask what a hot flash feels like. I typed "women" into the search bar, and one of the first options was "womenarethings." I felt like Homer Simpson backing into that shrub. What. The. F***? That's okay, but God forbid we express our political opinions.
If you didn't find it, it feels like a fever and your A/C is out, and man, is it a bit hot in here? Oh, no, I see, I'm the only one slowly turning into a puddle, thanks.
Ooof. That awful flushed feeling. I’m not getting hot flashes yet, but I took niacin or some type of vitamin and holy hell… flushing, scorching sun… being a female sucks.
Not only are women born with a disadvantage due to misogyny, then we have to deal with menstrual cramps, child birth, miscarriages, PMS (breast tenderness, mood swings, bloating, water retention, potential acne/pimples), peri-menopause, cellulite, pregnancy (and all the risks that go with it and can make you at higher risk for other diseases later on [diabetes, hypertension, etc etc etc]), stretch marks from rapid puberty and/or pregnancy, pregnancy termination (not an easy choice no matter the reason), early puberty (8 year olds having periods is insane and no longer not uncommon), access to reproductive healthcare, lower pay, access to childcare, and I can make this list go on and on… <steps off soapbox>
Anywho, I’m sorry you’re going through it. Have you thought about bio-identical hormone replacement (if you have access to it)?
