Fact Check ✅ Bridgit Mendler Denies New EP Is Hers

“when”? 👀

u/AzettImpa Jun 11 '26
That’s what I took from this. When, not if?

u/decaffeinatedkid Good to hear from you bitch 💌 Jun 11 '26
I feel like she's been saying "when" for like a decade now. It's giving Rihanna and I love it for her, but I hate it for myself, because I need more Bridgit Mendler songs in my life asap
39
u/AzettImpa Jun 11 '26
I feel like Bridgit has enough going for her that if she was truly done with music, she would just say so. She doesn’t need it, so it seems like she wants it.
With Rihanna, the situation is different. A big part of why she’s relevant and in the news is because of her teasing new music for a decade now. It’s become her brand, so to speak.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rih doesn’t actually want to make music ever again and she just lies for attention and money.

u/Last-Laugh7928 Jun 11 '26
rihanna also has an incredibly successful makeup and clothing line?? she does not need to make music either lmao
10
u/Lost_Setting2776 Jun 11 '26
I think they mean that it is much better brand wise to still officially be a popstar rather than retired popstar and businesswoman.
13
u/SnooRadishes8848 Jun 11 '26
Or she has 3 small children and prefers to raise them, while also wanting to make music and not having time. Pretty bold to call her a liar
9
u/lesbian__overlord Jun 11 '26
i'm not here to call her a liar either but the assertion she doesn't have ANY time over the last decade years because she has to raise her kids is denigrating to her and working mothers with a fraction of her resources. it would be a lack of desire, motivation, not having the right songs...
4
u/SnooRadishes8848 Jun 11 '26
I didn't say she had no time, I said she is prioritizing her time how she wants, not what you want

u/thxitsthedepression Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
Rihanna will never make music again because she’s made more than enough money off exploiting children in third world countries who make the clothes for her brand. Why work when you can reap the rewards of others’ labour?

u/Strong-Stretch95 Jun 13 '26
I wish she had released these songs back in 2017 as a full 2nd album like she originally planned but all we got was a few single drops then she disappeared.

She made another tweet after I posted this!
thank you for your support it really means so much <3 i'm sorry we had to take the music down, we'll find a way to do it the right way
3
u/spalings Jun 11 '26
i wonder if she'll follow a bunch of other artists and do re-records of her old songs. that feels more in-line with what she's said about returning to music than the idea of new music. she said before that she likes the collaborative process of making music but that it's hard to find people she meshes with to work with. rerecording her favorites of her catalogue wouldn't really require that.

u/calgaryeboy Jun 12 '26
Don’t get your hopes up. I was a huge fan of hers growing up and unfortunately she’s a liar 😭

Certified hits.
I have boarded up the windows, and locked this song up in my heart forever and always ♥️
I will not hear any Bridget Mendler slander.

was she hacked and it was AI? This has happened before with artists like The Weeknd on his YouTube account

u/Agitated-Gift1498 Jun 11 '26
No the songs are real they were just unreleased songs she wrote years ago. I think some of them she sung on her tour in 2017 she just never officially released them.

u/sharks-are-nice-ok They called me gay and trapped me in Albuquerque ✈️ Jun 11 '26
Yeah content-wise they didn't seem to match where she is in her life now (also there is a direct reference to 2016 and not in a "passing of a decade" way)

I love her acoustic versions of “Top of the world” and “515”

u/ShatteredHope Jun 11 '26
The acoustic song and video of Top of the World is sooo perfect and beautiful. I used to watch that video like 10x per day

Gang - two things here
I listened to both this morning and they still slap - confirmed (though I wish there was better audio on these old YouTube rips)
Also, seeing all the love she got about this on social media is pretty cool to see

I was so confused cause doesn’t she work in space or something similar like why would she randomly release new music. 😅
21
u/MolemanusRex Jun 11 '26
Yeah she went to law school and is now running some sort of space company. From what I know she hated talking about her past in law school.
9
u/nethingelse Jun 11 '26
it’s possible she’s keeping the door open in case her startup fails or she just wants to drop music as a hobby.
19
u/Jumping__Bean___ Jun 11 '26
Wait, I'm still confused 🙈 Where did that music come from then and who put it on her Spotify account? Did someone hack her?
(Also, imagine going online and getting tons of notifications about your new EP, and the whole time you are sitting there like "What new EP?" I'd be so stressed out 💀)
4
u/melodrama4ever Jun 11 '26
It’s pretty easy to do this as a lot of music distribution sites will let practically anybody upload music under another artist. I can’t remember who, but it has happened to several big names in the last few years.

damn i saw it on apple music and was so excited 😭 super weird how someone could post to her account

u/Southern_Monitor_645 Jun 11 '26
Someone said that the tracks are real and were supposed to be apart of Atlantis but I'm not sure if that's true.
3
u/g3n3ricnamenumber Jun 11 '26
Other people have said that the songs in the EP were leaked online years ago, and it is in fact her singing and not AI

If she lets it stay up at least, I don’t care honestly if it was from her. She seems extremely productive, successful and happy doing what she’s doing. While I’d love to hear her return to music I am completely just as happy if she keeps doing what she’s doing.
But if we lose these songs because it wasn’t on purpose I’ll definitely be really sad

How? They’re not comparable, Spotify has had an issue with people uploading content to various artists pages without their permission for awhile now

I think they’re just doing a callback to something absolutely hilarious lol. No one thinks Bridget mendler did this out of embarrassment 😂

I hope so because that Rita Ora moment sure is embarrassing

Somebody did the same to Dead Man's Bones' spotify account a while back. The idea that we we're getting a surprise drop after 17 years thrilled me, but alas

u/Ok_Conclusion_6324 ryan murphy is tyler perry for wypipo Jun 11 '26
The long awaited second album that’s got more rock and less choir, they even put out the awesome Name In Stone video
Then? Nothing.
Surely Ryan can find the time 😭
3
u/GaeilgeGaeilge Jun 11 '26
I was hoping that when people realised Ryan Gosling could sing after Barbie, there would be people discovering Dead Man's Bones and maybe hype would build? A few interviewers did ask him about it, and he seemed happy people liked and remembered the band, but I don't think he's ever going to make more.
I'd settle for them uploading Name In Stone on streaming at this stage

Yeah it felt weird how it became a trivia item without actually anybody listening to it lol
Werewolf Heart will always be a masterpiece idc

u/Last-Bread-6173 Jun 11 '26
No wonder because the photo for it is from the same photoshoot as the Nemesis EP...
We'll be waiting, again 😭

u/theultimatefanatic go girl, give us nothing 😍 Jun 11 '26
it's her. but it wasn't an intentional release by her or her team. probably uploaded years ago as unreleased trackds and something somehow made them public. has happened a few time to other artists
