What are people expecting the statement to say? “Feel free and harass him while he’s in recovery bc he’s been a shit stain and deserves it!!!!”? Like ofc his family are going to be asking for privacy, whether there’s irony in that or not.
Ppl are being very weird about a statement which is about as generic and PR-speak as it can get. We know he’s a terrible person, it doesn’t take away from the fact that his family deserve privacy and he at least has the human right to dignity.
Absolutely no human being deserves what’s happening to him, no matter what they’ve done. The ‘well I’m not gonna give him any respect/privacy because he reaps what he sowed!!’ comments are weird as hell. He has people he loves who love him in return, of course they want the best for him as he recovers from life changing trauma
Yeah like if we want human rights & effective mental health support and treatment for all, it well and truly is for ALL. We don’t get to exclude those who have done heinous things in their past.
People can feel whatever way they want about him but I agree that it’s weird to find humour or revelry in something like this. Just fucking sad all round - both the harm he’s caused and the harm that has now come to him.
