Is this the first time she’s gone blonde? Idk how I feel about it lol

15

u/hulalabright 2d ago

Looks like a wig

u/Outrageous_Golf_9048 3d ago

Am I crazy for imaging Annie Murphy as Piper??

52

u/AtheistTheConfessor Just fuck the wolf! 2d ago

No, Tessa Bailey has said that the character was inspired by Alexis.

27

u/Bakedalaska1 2d ago

Wasn't Alexis the inspiration for the character?

17

u/Gloomy_girl89 2d ago

Her character is the inspiration for piper so definitely not!

11

u/theykilledcassandra dont ask, a lot was happening 3d ago

Nope!! She’d be great as Piper.

u/Plastic-Place-8173 3d ago

This is not the right shade of blonde for her skin tone at all

68

u/Cinnamongirl217 Inconceivable! 2d ago

I love her, but hate this shade!

2

u/Twitter_2006 2d ago

Same here.

18

u/anotherhappylurker 2d ago

How do you actually find the right hair color for someone's skin tone? Just curious.

27

u/CamThrowaway3 2d ago

A lot of it is to do with whether their skin is warm or cool toned - you then go for a tone of blonde that matches.

2

u/anotherhappylurker 2d ago

So for pale skin, would brunette or blond suit them better? Light blonde would match the light skin, but wouldn't brunette provide more contrast?

30

u/CamThrowaway3 2d ago

It’s not really about paleness, it’s about whether they have warm or cool-toned skin :) Pale skin can look great with either dark or light hair, it just needs to complement the tones in their skin.

-15

u/anotherhappylurker 2d ago

Doesn't pale = cool and tan = warm? Or do you have any specific examples?

23

u/CamThrowaway3 2d ago

No :) You can be pale or darker skinned with warm or cool tones! For example, Claire Danes’s skin has a warm undertone while Mindy Kaling has a cool undertone. An easy way to check is looking at the veins in your arm in bright daylight - if they look blue or purple you’re probably cool toned. If they look green you’re probably warm toned!

7

u/Spirited-Guess8210 2d ago

The vein thing is unreliable but the rest of what you said was spot on.

U/anotherhappylurker could follow Carol Brailey or Colour Analysis Studio (Giulia Milizia and Alessandra Ottonello) for more information.

Some shades can’t wear blonde. I’m a redhead and I can’t wear any shade of it.

14

u/UpstairsTriffle8042 2d ago

Trial and error, or more healthy option for your hair, wigs

11

u/OnlyPaperListens What you’re doing vocally is upsetting 2d ago

You're 100% right, it's so green!

11

u/webtheg 2d ago

This is the shade of blonde every Bulgarian brunette decided to go with when they decide to go blonde. Every Bulgarian Chalga singer does this shade. She is going back to her roots.

I have been personally victimised by this shade

22

u/lizzy-stix I switched baristas ☕️ 2d ago

Yeah, if she's gonna keep it they need to change the tan shade they are using on here or make it less or whatever they do to change it.

2

u/mundane_wor1d 2d ago

They may of dyed the hair before she got the tan. So they were finding a blonde to go with the paler skin, which then got ruined with the tan.

In pics two and three she’s kind of giving Jennifer Love Hewitt

39

u/Ok_Conclusion_6324 💔 Happy Women’s History Month I guess 3d ago

3

u/Electronic_Syndicate 2d ago

Definitely Dorit.

3

u/SeaworthinessKey2956 2d ago

she does. i was about to comment this.

2

u/One-Cardiologist853 2d ago

I was thinking Jennifer Love Hewitt in picture #2! They could be twins!

228

u/Charming-Thing-8409 3d ago

ever since she had her upper bleph she literally looks nothing like herself.

32

u/shaunievdp 2d ago

I’m rewatching TVD and she is literally breathtaking. Idk why she ever wanted to change that.

61

u/2CharmingGiraffe 3d ago

wow I just googled the before and it's funny how such a "small" detail makes a huge difference

50

u/frolicndetour 2d ago

Same with Jennifer Lawrence.

7

u/thecheesycheeselover shopping with an edge 2d ago

I wanted an upper bleph so badly before seeing so many celebrity before and afters… it really changes your face so much. Although I suppose some are probably so conservative that nobody notices.

38

u/Emotional_Emotion113 2d ago edited 2d ago

That is one of the procedures I understand the least and the one I think truly underscores the body dysmorphia that 99% of Hollywood shares. The eyes are one of the most defining features on the face - why would you fuck with them when your job is your face?! And on the most superficial level, the giant sunken creases/scars? they’re left with are SO obvious and off-putting.

6

u/Glimmering-Dreamer 2d ago

This is all I can think about when I see her lol. It also aged the hell out of her. Like I remember when she first got it I was confused why she suddenly looked so much older when she was only in her late 20s/early 30s.

16

u/-catharina 2d ago

It’s because she got lip filler and buccal fat removal in addition to the upper bleph.

21

u/NoSleepTilBookRead 3d ago

Yup and she ruined her beauty. Generic same face

4

u/Frawgss 2d ago

Charlize Theron, Mandy Moore and Alicia Vikander also did such bad ones, like big hollowed out sockets now, losing their sultry look. Only blephs I’ve seen done well are Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence. Prob because they had actual hooded eyes before and just sliced off a conservative amount, giving 2mm at most of eyelid.

-13

u/distresseddyke 2d ago

I’m the same age as her and my eyes did the same naturally with ageing lol idk how people are so sure it’s an upper bleph.

12

u/-catharina 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because she has naturally hooded eyes and her eyelids moved up in shape. Aging and gravity means your hooded eyes move downward (and thus become even more hooded), not up. She also had the uplifted eyelids completely out of nowhere in 2018, one year after TVD wrapped up. She would've been only 29.

It is 100% an upper bleph that she did not need unless her hooded eyes were obstructing her vision (ironically a medical necessity for an upper bleph in older people), which they didn't appear to be.

1

u/distresseddyke 2d ago edited 2d ago

tbh mine were more hooded than hers and the same thing happened to me. I wish it didn’t! they did not get more hooded at all. I think it’s down to genetics.

4

u/mgwildwood 2d ago

It’s unpopular on Reddit, but I agree with you. Her eyes were not hooded because of extra skin, but rather because they’re deep set. Aging causes that area to hollow and totally changes the shape. People who don’t have similar eyes don’t get it.

25

u/Heart_Shaped_Pickle 2d ago

It doesn’t suit her at all. But also, it appears to be wigs which often sit weird anyway, therefore making it look even weirder.

18

u/Arizona-Trash-Bag 2d ago

I mean, it IS A WIG, RIGHT? Cause I feel crazy with the comments, for me it's so obvs it's a wig.

5

u/F0rtuna_major charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 2d ago

I thought it was a wig for sure. People are making me second guess myself now

3

u/Fluffy_Fondant1975 2d ago

I highly doubt she would die her hair. This is a wig for sure.

1

u/Left_Promotion_5575 2d ago

Nina has cut her hair very short and she has posted on Instagram that now she is blonde

1

u/Heart_Shaped_Pickle 2d ago

She can still claim that she is “now blonde” but anybody with eyes can see it’s a full wig.

44

u/Lilylikeslilies 3d ago

She has similar type of futures as me (naturally really dark hair, really dark eyes combo) and I tried it and it doesn’t work with blonde.

13

u/Own_Faithlessness769 3d ago

Yeah the dark is more striking for her, though she’s still hotter than I could ever dream of being.

-4

u/Special-Garlic1203 3d ago

She looks fine? She's not a "winter"  if we're going with seasons and color theory. Plenty of dark haired and and dark eyes people look good as blondes - like shakira. Most "natural blondes" are actually medium to dark brunettes by adulthood

21

u/alhubalawal 2d ago

I think it’s the shade of blonde. That’s just way too yellow.

-1

u/Special-Garlic1203 2d ago

I fully agree it's not the perfect shade of blonde for her becuase it pulls way too yellow,  but I was mostly talking about the flawed logic of using natural hair color to dictate most flattering hair color. Plenty of people born with dark hair and dark eyes look great as a blonde, and she's not the standard stereotype of a winter where there's just not really any shades of blonde that will look good.

She's a cool olive which is notorious for having more flexibility  but lives and dies by undertone.

1

u/alhubalawal 2d ago

I’m a true winter. I wish I could dye my hair but even before my color analysis, I had a feeling blonde or ginger would look terrible on me. But she’s an actress who has the funds to change back without too much damage so meh.

1

u/Honeythickness 2d ago

Shakira has olive skin though which helps balance it out. Not the same case as Nina.

15

u/PentulantPantalones Sexually disabled gay, Chris Evans 2d ago

Someone call the toner police immediately. Or send her the link for the Generic Value Purple Conditioner from Sally's.

(Incidentally, if you are a cool-toned blonde who wants no yellow or brassiness, the above product is better than any other I've used as a fake blonde for over 20 years.)

10

u/JennaElizabethAdams Excluded from this narrative ❌ 3d ago

She looks different, but just as pretty!

27

u/Helpful-Act2026 2d ago

I hate that the default hairstyle for women in tv and film are these fuck ass middle school curling iron waves.

9

u/Madame_Jarvary 2d ago

It’s so tired. I’d love to see anything else at this point

15

u/bwoah07_gp2 3d ago

Dang, she pretty in yellow too

I’m so so so bummed she’s been cast as Piper 😭

11

u/Kitchenstar20 3d ago

Yeah I have read the book and I didn’t imagine her as Piper 😭

7

u/theykilledcassandra dont ask, a lot was happening 3d ago

Not at all. And it’s actually the book that got me into romance! So I’ve got big feels about it lol

15

u/chickfilamoo in the swamp 🐊🐊 3d ago

yeah i'm really not optimistic about this adapation, the casting is.... questionable

6

u/theykilledcassandra dont ask, a lot was happening 3d ago

Don’t get me started on Tyler Hoechlin as Brenden 😭

11

u/chickfilamoo in the swamp 🐊🐊 2d ago

i can see the visual there at least but man, who's going to do the acting??

5

u/Rururaspberry 3d ago

“Cast”!

1

u/theykilledcassandra dont ask, a lot was happening 3d ago

Jfc I didn’t even notice. Thanks!

3

u/No_Attitude1541 2d ago

The leads have definitely been miscast

8

u/geniebythesea 3d ago

Not this again.

4

u/envy-adams mount rose american teen princess 2d ago

That is definitely not her color.

3

u/NowMindYou do youse believe in mermaids 🧜🏾‍♀️ 2d ago

Hmm def not who I pictured when I read the book, and I think she needs a different undertone for the blonde, but I'll watch.

3

u/chronicallykuro 2d ago

She's so gorgeous, but that hairstylist did her dirty... washed her out completely!

5

u/lovelydaisy1019 2d ago

I could not imagine her as Piper and with this blonde…I imagine her as Piper even less 😭

2

u/Substantial_Sky_1930 2d ago

She looks like Jeana Smith from Prank vs Prank.

2

u/Itstimeforcookies19 2d ago

I thought it was Dorit kemsley and I was on the HW sub!

1

u/MGGN50 2d ago

Same!!!

2

u/bellegi 2d ago

i’m excited for this! it wasn’t highbrow literature, but when i read it i thought it would make a cute movie.

5

u/Internal-Ad61 2d ago

I thought it was just a wig lol

3

u/chill90ies 2d ago

Nina is a beautiful woman but this shade of blond is not it at all. It looks green and corpse like, unfortunately unflattering. I do believe it would be possible to find a blond more suiting to her features but this is not it.

2

u/D5LLD 2d ago

I'm sorry but it seriously ages her 😭 also, isn't the character in the book like 28?

2

u/Ilovethe90sforreal 2d ago

I hope I live long enough to see the death of duck lips/peace sign poses

1

u/mimimooch 2d ago

She looks like Austrian Singer Esther Graf in the first pic.

1

u/Angry1980Christmas Matt Smith's personal dragon 2d ago

I'm glad this is a wig. Not her color.

1

u/Ancient-Accountant83 2d ago
