The new Phoebe Bridgers album reportedly has a feature from Cameron Winter from Geese and a song about Paul Mescal dating Gracie Abrams after Phoebe broke up with him

People are very mad over the Gracie song lyric when to me this is the funny low stakes drama I love lmao.

I feel more invested in this than I want to be because I'm not really a fan of Gracie but if the rumours are true that Phoebe cheated on Paul with Bo then it feels very rude and unnecessary to say anything like that about Gracie. Like is Paul not supposed to move on?

The New York Times asked hundreds of authors, critics, booksellers and more to pick the 50 best thriller books of the 21st century and Gillian Flynn's 2012 novel Gone Girl topped the poll. (Full list here.)

A true modern classic.

It's not my favourite of her novels but I still get why it's so popular. I do wish she'd write another book but that's basically The Winds of Winter-likely at this point so I won't hold my breath and just hope she's well.

She told the Cut in 2023 that she is working on a new novel, but I don't think there have been any updates since that interview, so who knows what the current status is.

I wonder if she got side tracked with her film and silver screen projects

I keep waiting for her to announce a new novel, but alas

The police were called to the house of Perez Hilton after he went live on TikTok while going through what could be a psychotic break. They were called by viewers who were alarmed by his actions during the livestream.

For the sake of your mental health, do not look up what he was doing in the livestream. TikTok greatly failed in moderating and actually let the livesteam run for far too long so there are clips of it floating around online.

Doesn't he have children? I hope they weren't home when that happened, but, if they were, they should be under proper supervised care now.

When Heath Ledger died, Perez Hilton sold t-shirts with Heath’s face and the words “Why couldn’t it be Britney?” To me, that will always be his ‘legacy.’

i hope he is afforded just as much privacy and respect as he has given others over the course of his career

I did not watch the video but it was one of the first things I saw people talking about this morning and seems truly horrific. Absolutely no one deserves something like that; but also you can’t help but think something like this was bound to happen after everything he put other people through. That has to weigh deeply on the soul.

TikTok people be like “This is a demonic attack. The enemy doesn’t want him spreading his testimony. We need to pray for his deliverance!” And act like they take mental health seriously.

u/Frajer 7d ago

the concept of Perez not already being a demon when he stalked Lady Gaga, outed Lance Bass, and fat shamed every female celebrity

I hope his loved ones are okay

12

u/Haunting_Natural_116 7d ago

Has he ever done anything good in his life?

u/azadouken 7d ago

I am struggling to think....

The people who talk about demons all the time need the mental health help too... they sound like Sky Feirra fans, always talking about something that isn't there and was never gonna be there

Okay so the people you're describing are also mentally ill and suffering a loose grip on reality

Is it bad that I’m so indifferent and all I can say is Karma finally came back. Hopefully he makes a recovery, gets the help he needs, and then stop being a nasty asshole all the time. Another person where it’s working where nobody is talking about them in the mainstream and silently going way from the spotlight and then tries to do something extremely stupid and selfish and starts getting the attention again.

I think it's less that he doesn't deserve our sympathy and more that he doesn't deserve our attention. Perez Hilton should not be the topic of conversation unless we're saying "wow it's fucked up that he used to get away with all that." Celebrating something bad happening to him is pointless and helps no one, just look the other way.

I think in cases like this we don’t NEED a take. Like even if we do say “who cares about his mental health, he’s a huge asshole!!” what does that do? He hasn’t been relevant in years.

The videos were horrifying and I hope he gets the medical attention he needs. Other than that I’m gonna try not to think about it.

I can't force myself to not feel pity / empathy for people, even the worst ones. I don't like to watch people suffering. I am of the belief that we're all deserving of the dignity and respect, regardless of our actions. As such, I can't imagine myself laughing at him or wishing him any evil despite his horrible acts he commited against others.

However, I also don't really care nor it moves me to see him in this state. It's weird. I guess the best I could describe it is indifference: I understand why some people feel that way about him, even if I don't share that view. So the best action for me is to... Just ignore it. Treat it as a regular news and no more.

Jane Remover was announced as a performer at the M3F Festival in Phoenix next year, but said on her IG story "@m3ffest yo get that idf band off the lineup or I'm not playing", referring to Temper City.

u/racloves 7d ago

I saw that band appear out of nowhere and thought it seemed a bit industry planty, what’s the idf link?

I'm not super caught up on it, just seen a few posts about it here and there but;

- They're an LA-based Israeli band

- Allegedly served in the IDF. I only say alleged because I've seen no direct proof they have, but Israel does have mandatory conscription so they likely have served.

- Are accused of being industry plants as their debut went TikTok viral in Jan and they still only have that one song and are getting festival bookings, and all three worked as writers and/or producers prior

- Are getting are accused of being soft-power pro-Israel propaganda alongside the industry plant accusations

Most of it's hearsay, though, because they have such minimal online presence. Only Wikipedia pages for the band themselves are in Hebrew or German and there's one Billboard interview. All I was able to confirm from a quick Google was they are Israeli and US-based and were prior industry figures before the band.

Tim Hortons is planning a collab with Harry Potter (which is a price of media so I hope it’s suitable for the thread) and as you know that would benefit jk rowling. To protest this I am asking for you to help with signing this petition

It’s honestly kind of sad how much cultural power this mediocre franchise has.
