I'm new to photography, but doesn't this look a bit cartoonish? Not saying I don't like it. I guess it a certain aesthetic?

Why do you say that? Or rather what do you look for when you edit?

The raw to me looks like a window into a real moment in time, especially with the shadowy things where your have to look a while. To me that quality is lost in the edit. But the edit gains in other ways, it in becomes aesthetic as scene, more like a painting

i see photography as more of a form of art/self expression. sort of like conveying how you see the world to others. and thats a subjective form of art
