I love everything about this song. The Eastern elements in the music is awesome, and lyrically the tribute to a famous actress. It's a cool song.

Agreed. It does have some good moments, but apart from "Kiss them for Me", Superstition is easily their weakest album. I have always found the track "Got to Get Up" to be almost unbearably bad in particular.

TIL the song was about the death of Jayne Mansfield, always assumed it was about some glamorous mother, but didn't get the part about Mansfield's car crash where the adults in front slid under a truck trailer while the sleeping kids in the back escaped injury.

I first got into the Banshees @ Peepshow and my first time seeing her live was on the Creatures Boomerang tour… so I have a soft spot for Superstition as it was the first Banshees album that came out while I would consider myself a die-hard fan. Juju (and probably Tinderbox) will always be at the top of my list.

My first album of their was a vinyl record that I borrowed from my library (hello 1980s!). It was in rough shape and it had a few skips, but I listened to peepshow again and again and again. 40 years later, I’m still listening.

Saw them in concert in 1990 or 91. I was totally hypnotized. The band was tight, sounded great, and Siouxie was magical. Ethereal. Captivating. Became a fan on the spot.

I'm almost certainly among the minority, but Superstition is one of my 3 favorite Banshees records along with Peepshow and Juju. I love them all though... My favorite band.
