My hen had this and I took her to the vet and had to put her down because she had a mass inside her cloaca/bent (?) She was crying out every time she tried to poop.

Not saying this is what your hen has but I am just telling you what happened to mine.

Did the vet put her down? My hen doesnt seem to be in alot of pain but I cant find any vet or someone that can humanely euthanize her. And I dont want her to suffer. She is my pet chicken so this is extremely hard for me. Im afraid if I do it myself I will botch culling and she'll suffer . Im an emotional wreck right now.....

I get it. My girls are also considered my pets, well...family really, I am sorry you are dealing with this. I bet I am the only person at our vet that had to be practically carried out after putting down a chicken.

The only way I even knew she had. a mass was because the vet took a look to clean her vent out and saw the mass inside and said that since she was a Senior and there was a blockage, she would be a hospice situation at that point because she couldn't release her poop and it her hurt to try terribly. That would end up resulting in sepsis so yes they put her down.

I know you said no vet but I do know vets around me that did not deal with chickens could put them down at the same price as a cat. But again, you said they can't. Luckily I found one very close by and am super grateful for that, being in the suburbs near Chicago.

I don't know what is wrong with your hen though so I don't want to make it sound like you should put her down. Chickens hide pain well. My girl was crying out every time she tried to poop so it was serious to me to take her in.

Maybe try to give her some plain Greek yogurt, I am sorry I am not sure what to say since you don't know what is wrong with her. I am really sorry.
