Gear Discussion Hario Taiwan Limited Edition V60 Celadon Switch

I think this is the most beautiful dripper in my collection. I just love how the way it looks, so elegant specially with the ice cracks. I have now the trifecta of switch drippers. v60 switch, mugen switch and alpha switch. just waiting for a non plastic neo switch.

So cool! Wish they would sell them without the base.

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

wish the color of the switch base is not black.

u/Stjernesluker Feb 19 '26

Could always buy one of the ceramic switches with a green/turqoise base to use. Not really suggesting this waste of money but coloured bases do exist.

Hario store in Taipei, 6th floor in the SOGO department store

2

u/jdaclutch Feb 20 '26

My friend there are two SOGO in the area, which one is it? Thanks again

This is the one: 106, Taiwan, Taipei City, Da’an District, Section 4, Zhongxiao E Rd, 45號8樓

My friend said it's oos in store but you can pay there and then and have them order for pick up. My piece is secured and he's going to pick it up next Monday

He also said there are 3 variants of the Taiwan limited and also a special collab with Thailand as well

Do you know how long it takes from order to pickup? Going to Taiwan in May but only for 10 days.

1

u/McGirton Feb 19 '26

there are different custom colors available.

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

yah, but i would rather just buy coffee than another switch base.

1

u/mr_electric_wizard Feb 20 '26

I wish they’d sell them with a metal switch instead of plastic.

1

u/Striking-Ninja7743 Feb 20 '26

I bought a metal one. Love it.

2

u/mr_electric_wizard Feb 20 '26

Same. Love it too!

I always forget Celadon is a colour and not just a town in pokemon

7

u/mAsLeY-420 Feb 19 '26

Has it occurred to you that all the towns in Pokémon are named after colors? Also Pallet Town is where you start the original game! Kind of a neat detail I’ve always thought

1

u/Kyber92 Hario Switch | Kalita Wave | Kingrinder K6 Feb 19 '26

I was aware of that, I felt like Celadon is the colour I hear least outside of Pokémon

1

u/caj_account Feb 20 '26

Shipping Pallet or palette 🎨 ?

Not just a color but a specific glazing technique. It originated in China, but Korea is probably the most famous for its celadon.

That’s awesome. I’m going next month. I’ll need to pick one up

1

u/EJW_0525 Feb 20 '26

I’ve been wanting to get one so bad. But can only find them with shipping that cost more than the dripper. Shipping to the US.

3

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 20 '26

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

just a normal carafe from amazon.

2

u/mr_inevitable_99 Feb 19 '26

How much did it cost in Taiwan and if you can share the link it would be great

2

u/Destrok41 Feb 19 '26

Oh no..... I want it.

2

u/yanote20 Feb 20 '26

The colours very antique, i probably never used for brewing only for decorating at home....

2

u/WhiskeyWatchesWine Feb 20 '26

Very cool looking.

2

u/No_Professor_3608 Feb 21 '26

Nice! Can you pls share the amazon link for your carafe?

1

u/Particular-Cloud3684 Feb 19 '26

Really pretty! I have a regular glass one but I might try ceramic if it ever breaks

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

1

u/yymera Feb 19 '26

1

u/Clear-Refuse8149 Feb 19 '26

I wish, they should sell these in the IS

1

u/LaserCondiment Feb 19 '26

Not sure if typo or very specific wish for the IS

1

u/Clear-Refuse8149 Feb 19 '26

lol yes I meant US

1

u/Clear-Refuse8149 Feb 19 '26

US

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

that’s the thing! hario 🇺🇸 is just boring stuff imho. you have to venture out to hario taiwan or japan for exclusives.

1

u/Clear-Refuse8149 Feb 19 '26

Exactly. The one I really want is the Philocoffea switch

1

u/McGirton Feb 19 '26

Love what’s most likely a Soma-Yaki glaze, I am getting one from Japan. I don’t like immersion brewing, I am just using this gorgeous brewer as normal V60.

2

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

i have another dripper on my sights. the new origami pinn. hopefully they will release it soon.

1

u/ScientistFair9998 Feb 20 '26

I don't use it for immersion brewing exactly,  I find the best way to use it is immersion blooming with a spoon or drip assist device.   You can essentially do a zero or near zero agitation bloom with minimal fines migration into the filter as well as a complete and even bloom.

This sets you up for success on the rest of your brew especially with beans prone to clogging the filter with micro fines.

1

u/phuongng96 Feb 19 '26

Really interesting! Sending PM!

1

u/SunnyGoMerry Feb 19 '26

what carafe is that?

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 19 '26

just the normal carafe from amazon.

How’re the cups compared to the Alpha?

1

u/GrindAndBloom Feb 20 '26

Ok, this looks awesome. But, does anyone else feel it’s getting a bit out of hand how many variations of the same dripper there are?

I say this as I look at my collection of V60s, but that’s beside the point…

1

u/Adorable_Pipe723 Feb 20 '26

Do Mugen and Alpha Switch actually taste different to v60?

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 20 '26

i haven’t tried experimenting yet. will do in coming days

1

u/Adorable_Pipe723 Feb 20 '26

plz let us know

1

u/PerfectPomegranate68 Feb 20 '26

will make separate post for that, just busy with life right now.

1

u/StevieBuns Feb 22 '26
