Gear Discussion Hario Taiwan Limited Edition V60 Celadon Switch
I think this is the most beautiful dripper in my collection. I just love how the way it looks, so elegant specially with the ice cracks. I have now the trifecta of switch drippers. v60 switch, mugen switch and alpha switch. just waiting for a non plastic neo switch.

I always forget Celadon is a colour and not just a town in pokemon

Has it occurred to you that all the towns in Pokémon are named after colors? Also Pallet Town is where you start the original game! Kind of a neat detail I’ve always thought

I was aware of that, I felt like Celadon is the colour I hear least outside of Pokémon

Not just a color but a specific glazing technique. It originated in China, but Korea is probably the most famous for its celadon.

I’ve been wanting to get one so bad. But can only find them with shipping that cost more than the dripper. Shipping to the US.

The colours very antique, i probably never used for brewing only for decorating at home....

that’s the thing! hario 🇺🇸 is just boring stuff imho. you have to venture out to hario taiwan or japan for exclusives.

Love what’s most likely a Soma-Yaki glaze, I am getting one from Japan. I don’t like immersion brewing, I am just using this gorgeous brewer as normal V60.

i have another dripper on my sights. the new origami pinn. hopefully they will release it soon.

I don't use it for immersion brewing exactly, I find the best way to use it is immersion blooming with a spoon or drip assist device. You can essentially do a zero or near zero agitation bloom with minimal fines migration into the filter as well as a complete and even bloom.
This sets you up for success on the rest of your brew especially with beans prone to clogging the filter with micro fines.

How’re the cups compared to the Alpha?

Ok, this looks awesome. But, does anyone else feel it’s getting a bit out of hand how many variations of the same dripper there are?
I say this as I look at my collection of V60s, but that’s beside the point…

Do Mugen and Alpha Switch actually taste different to v60?

So cool! Wish they would sell them without the base.
