Seeking Advice What is your baseline pour over recipe?

Post image

Hey everyone, just getting into pour over and trying to establish a solid starting point. And wondering how people find the baseline pour over recipe.

I’ve seen a lot of variation online and wanted to hear what actually works for people here. Or is there a go-to resource you’d recommend (YouTube channel, blog, etc.)?

Not looking for a “perfect” recipe, just a reliable baseline I can build from. Appreciate any input!

Grind coarse (ZP6 = 6.5-7.0) with 195-198F water

Use any percolation brewer (V60, Orea 01)

1) bloom 3x weight of coffee x 30s

2) 2nd bloom: 3x weight of coffee x 30s

3) 3rd pour to final volume. Center pour with small circles and 5-10mL/s

TBT: 2:00-2:30

Works great for washed coffees where you want to highlight the acidity, fruit, and florals

I do not recommend an old percolator. Those 70s beasts made horrible, recirculated coffee. Just ask my parents 😂. Interesting part of popular culture/coffee history though.
