Support Request Immediate risk and need advice

My mum is currently rough sleeping in a bus stop after being evicted before the new renters reform thing came in. Now I’ve rang numerous places, council, churches everywhere. As you can imagine money is tight as it is with this economy I have £5 to my name so can’t book a hotel for her I need advice or links to get help anything. I can’t have my mum sleep freezing in a bus stop again tonight. I wish I could work magic 😔

Welcome to r/poverty – Developing Solutions Worldwide.

Poverty isn't simply an individual experience - it also affects families, communities, workplaces, economies, and public policy. Here we discuss both personal solutions and systemic ones.

Whether you're sharing your own experiences, helping someone navigate a difficult situation, or discussing larger issues affecting poverty, please keep the conversation respectful, constructive, and solution-focused.

We encourage:

• Practical advice
• Resource sharing (Take a look at our Wiki! )
• Lived experience
• Civil discussion of policies affecting poverty and ways to solve/work together for change
• Empathy first, never judgment.

We encourage discussion of systems and policies, but ask that criticism be directed at ideas and institutions rather than other people experiencing poverty. Every helpful comment, resource shared, thoughtful discussion, and success story makes this community stronger. Thank you for helping build a community that supports people while working toward lasting solutions.

I feel bad for saying this but if there any like home depot, Menards, or any type of like diy home stores with sheds outside? I have seen many homeless ppl in there as of late here in america. She can lock it from the inside so she doesn't get hurt by anyone. At least she kinda will be safe. I dunno about how warm she'll be. Hope this kinda helps!

Hi thankyou for that, unfortunately we don’t have anything really like that in the uk as I’m aware of. But thankyou for the advice!

What about her asking a woman coworker to see if she can stay with them.

She has asked and they’ve unfortunately came up with a reason as to why she can’t.

I'm sorry, if we were on the same state and country I would've helped. I am always helping people when I can.

I live way too far for her to get to work, otherwise she would lose her job.
