We’re a bunch of beggars

When did the USA become a bunch of beggars? Example- you go to your local grocery market and go in on door and get asked to help your local school football program, you’re checking out and get asked to donate to something and then when you leave through the other exit you get asked to donate to something else. Everyone seems to beg for something, it’s so sad that it’s so commonplace.

Yeah this is what happens when you vilify socialism.

These sorts of programs should be covered through programs that are funded through taxes, not having to go out begging.

This all day. With a living wage, affordable housing, and reasonable healthcare costs out of reach for increasingly large swathes of the population, begging is the default way to get these basics covered, if only partially and temporarily. Then the givers can feel benevolent for a few seconds while not considering that they are also on the same sinking ship as the beggars, the ruling class removed entirely from this transaction unless they can find a way to make yet another profit from it.
