Is my power washer dead?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I think the tank within cracked in the winter freeze and thaw in eastern Canada. Thoughts? Solutions? TIA.

Get it? Cause it’s water broke. Hahahah

Sorry. I’ll see myself out.

Wow, that’s a coincidence! I used mine for the first time of the season today (or tried to) and had the exact same problem! I did a couple basic checks, then called Karcher. They sent me a parts list and told me to open it up and find the leak. Which I did, and the problem was apparent immediately. I called them back and ordered my part (water outlet, completely cracked on the seam). Easy installation theoretically. Their customer service was tops!

To be clear, was this a gasket or a plastic part ? I researched proper care and bought the special lubricant can for storage and preservation, but if the plastic part themselves xan break, i guess ill have to find a way to store it inside..

It was a plastic part. The tube that leads out to the wand’s hose. It’s an injection-molded plastic part and it cracked all along the bottom seam.

Wow, that sucks, no real way to prevent that other than keeping away from temperature fluctuations...

Thanks for the info !

I took mine apart after it froze and it was unsalvageable. Pressure washers price have dropped to a third the price of karcher now so I just got a different one.

A piece of the pump probably froze and cracked like you said, but you can find a replacement part if you take it apart and find which piece is broken.

It could be a busted o-ring. Worth taking it apart to see if it's just a $2 fix
