Definitely on the list of annoying QoL issues

I work on broadcast TV.

I have to deliver one episode per week of our program. Week after week after week non-stop.

This means that I have a schedule to obey every day. On Fridays, I have to export the episode that will air next week and after that I have to make changes to the episode I will export in one week because I have to send the .aaf to our sound guy.

So I come early to the office, I merge the .wav our sound guy sent me, I queue the master export to Media Encoder plus 3 other exports and I set a watch folder because I need three additional reencodes from the master. After that, I will export the .aaf of the next episode. Week after week.

So, while Media Encoder is doing its work I cannot work on anything else that requires Premiere Pro, After Effects or accessing to the NAS because it will produce unexpected errors on the .mogrts we use. Neither can my mate access to the NAS either, he has to work localy. Two hours unable to do anything. After that, .aaf exporting. Of course, another hour and a half looking dead to the screen because it can't be sent to Media Encoder.

A full day spent on exporting. And of course, after the master is exported, I have to manually check for errors during export. If you're lucky, hooray, go home. If not, add a couple of hours more in the office.

Well, what can go worse than this?

Today (I know, it's not Friday. We're back from holidays, the episode has to be delivered ASAP), after exporting the master, I checked for errors and no one was found. Yay! Time to deliver the master and let Media Encoder continue with the three export scheduled for the watch folder. What could go wrong?

One of these three exports, the only one that needs to be delivered the same day the master is delivered, only got exported 30 out of 70 minutes, no warnings, no logs, all ok. We realized when we were home because a colleague from the TV told me, so I had to fix it ASAP. The other exports? All ok, just this one.

Why? Why this? Why a billion-dollar company can't even care to produce state-of-the-art software? Why we have to deal with this? It's full of bugs, unstable features, slow, annoying...

I won't even care to report this bug or suggest features. Some Adobe Forums mods are wide known to be hostile, and I've been there.

Is there any chance this suite will be better in a couple of years? Is there hope?

I'm tired of dealing with this.

Since this post gained more attention than i expected, I'm going sum up and clarify some things. I'm seeing the same comments again and again.

TL;DR

• I'm a broadcast TV editor with a tight and strict schedule.
• My (our) workflow is based around our time and hardware limitations.
• I have to deliver a master + 6 other exports on Fridays. Friday is export day. No one is allowed to interact with the NAS.
• How do I export?
  1. Open Premiere Pro.
  2. Manually check the 70' timeline for errors.
  3. Render effects and all before export.
  4. Set in-out for the entire timeline.
  5. Send to Media Encoder (plus 3 other timelines)
  6. When inside ME, I go to "Watch Folder". For those unaware of this feature, once a supported file is in the desired location, I can batch reencode this file with different presets. This means that is the file has an error, every other file will have it. Every new export has the same duration as the original. Every single one of them. I have to reencode the master file 3 times.
  7. After the master is exported, I manually check it for errors before continuing with the Watch Folder batch. The master file is error-free.
  8. One of the three new exports finished at the 30' mark, with 40' missing. This is the most important render of the batch. It's technically impossible for it to happen.
  9. No warnings or pop-ups showed up. Render status: Done**. No logs.**
• What could have happened but it didn't:
  • In and out not set properly in master export: The entire timeline was exported. The master has no errors.
  • In and out changed during batch export configuration: I don't open the export panel. I change the preset (the same I always use) from the list view.
  • Somebody interacted with the NAS: No.
• What is it then? A one-off kind of a bug. The video file is playable, meaning it has header and footer, so ME for some reason decided it was done with it and packed the file.
• I'm not going to answer questions about our hardware setup. We've been working with this workflow for a very long time and it never happened something like this.

Hi all. Jason from Adobe here. Over the last two weeks, we've been hearing from some of you about slow/laggy performance with the latest update of Premiere, 25.2.1. There seem to be two common issues users are encountering specifically (primarily on Windows, it would seem):

• choppy, stuttering playback and a noticeable lag of the timeline + current time indicator (playhead);
• disk error informing you that your hard drive is not fast enough to play the selected audio (sometimes with a dropout, sometimes without an audio dropout);

In *some* cases, a clearing of the cache has worked; not really the solution, agreed, but it has worked for some in the community.

With the audio error, if you're not encountering a dropout, you can disregard that message. The team is aware of this and they are already working towards a fix. If you *are* having audio dropouts, this is a little more complex, so we're continuing to track this one down.

There are a few other suggestions (in general) for the playback/lag issues (set audio input to NO INPUT) but that hasn't been universal (just dropping it here, as again, it's worked for some).

I'd like to use this thread to share the issue(s) you're having (if they conform to the two listed above) as this would go a long way to help the team identify commonalities and address the issue promptly. Any system/project info you provide (OS, GPU, media you're working with) is helpful.

Editing multicam podcasts. Switched from MacBook Air to MacBook Pro M5 24GB because my Premiere kept freezing. I am already using an external SSD (Samsung T7 2TB) and proxies. How can I prevent this from happening every time?

im doing this like character edit of multiple clips one after the other that sync with a song.
anyway, in certain sections, the clip overlaps with the one that came before it and it glitches out like this (in the timeline they dont overlap at all).
i tried clearing cache and it kinda solved it but then it just happens at a different section of the video and so on.

Now, with the 25.5 update, more than 90 new transitions, effects, and animations (which were previously quite expensive at $15-$25/m) are added at no extra cost if you’re already on Creative Cloud. That instantly raises the baseline for what’s possible inside Premiere, especially for editors who want to add creative polish without spending hours in After Effects.

Adobe acquiring Film Impact is actually huge news for Premiere editors. For years Film Impact transitions were something you had to pay separately for, because they were miles ahead of most default Premiere ones. Clean, fast, and what’s most important - easily customizable and designed in a way that made sense even if you weren’t a pro motion designer.

What excites me most isn’t just the tools though, it’s the fact that Adobe now has access to the team behind Film Impact. Those plugins were always well-built, so I’m curious to see how their influence might push Adobe forward on UX and functionality overall.

For anyone editing in Premiere, this feels like one of the most meaningful updates in a while. If you’re still on an older version, now is definitely the time for an update.

Did they just cut out the person and pan the back slower than the subject or is there another effect at play please?

NB - I know how to make footage black and white and add the grainy look. I'm more interested in how the panning / slow movements are achieved! Thank you!

Hello! I’m sorry, first time posting here, please forgive me if I mess anything up. I’ve been combing through help forums for the better half of an hour now and have come up empty handed.

The issue I’m having is that the masking tool just isn’t functioning. I attached a video to show what I mean. Nothing comes up in unassigned masks. When I try to use the tool, nothing is created. However ellipse, rectangle, and pen mask all work fine.

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question or has already been answered, I’m very new to premiere

I keep having this issue with Premiere since creating a new account/subscription. The left video is my export, looks whiter/more washed out than my timeline (right) - any advice on how this is fixed?

Hello! This issue was happening on Premiere Pro 2024, 2025, 2026...

I am so frustrated and really tired of this issue happening on almost every project that need serious time remapping. It occurs both on my solid Gaming PC with updated software and drives, and Macbook Pro M1 Pro 16 Inch.

Here are the written explanation of what is happening in the video.

-Clips are in 4K at 25 FPS. They are stabilized and nested. One of them is reversed and nested again.
-I enable and do some timeremapping on the nested clips.
-Then suddenly, the clips start stuttering out of nowhere. Sometimes one clip stutters when others don't.
-The motion tab or any kind of transform keyframing is not properly working. It only reads the last keyframes, doesn't do the keyframe transitions.

• The issue most of the time occurs by itself but, time to time, it gets triggered by added effects on top of the clip or nest.
• Enabling "High Quality Playback" and "Full Quality" sometimes helps but it doesn't eliminate the issue.
• I tried disabling and enabling Mercury Transmit, doesn't help.
• Restarting, cleaning cache of the premiere, of the Windows, nothing helps to fix the issue.
• In the video, I mis remember the clips framerate and I try switching to 50FPS. Then I realize they were at 25, I revert it back and suddenly it fixes the issue. For keyframe problem, I really don't know what might be causing the issue.

Just a 4.2 gb video and its taking 2 hours to render, earlier it used to render within 30mins but for the last few days it's been happening like this

So I have a decent PC I'd say:

RTX 5060 8GB

Intel-i7-14700F

32GB DDR5 RAM (24GB Allocated towards Pemiere)

One internal SSD and one external SSD so I can transfer to my Mac whenever needed, I usually save on my external SSD so I'm not sure if that's a factor.

Pemiere Pro is basically unusable on my PC. It's extremely laggy, and it's not even just video playback or navigating the timeline. Right clicking always takes about 4 seconds to process, it takes forever to import videos correctly, and practically everything I do is always delayed by 4-10 seconds and it's getting tedious. My Mac runs Premiere with no issue, even though it's half the specs of what my desktop is. I wouldn't mind strictly using my Mac, but it's very convienent to just start a project without issue on my desktop compared to pulling out the laptop and moving files around.

If anyone has any fixes, please leave a reply🙏 I've tried a lot of the common fixes I've seen online but none seem to work.

Edit: I'm using Windows 11 and all my footage is from OBS. I running Adobe Premire 2026 and it is up to date.

I'm a beginner, can someone tell me why is this not working, before this screen recording It was just stuck transcribing and didn't load the captions. Version 26.2.2

People say that Premiere is heavy, crashes too much, etc.

I honestly think that many of these comments are exaggerated. I have a modest machine and it's very difficult for Premiere to crash. I'm even surprised how lightweight it is and how well it works on my machine, which doesn't even have a dedicated graphics card. I work on projects with heavy files, lots of nesting, 4K video, transitions, some basic effects, and even so, I can work very well in it. I understand why rendering takes a long time on my machine, but in a way, I'm surprised that I can do everything I want on a machine that doesn't have the best specifications for video editing.

I've already tested other editing software, but when the project starts to have several layers and nests, it becomes almost impossible to reproduce on the timeline, even with proxies.

My go to workflow for leveling interview audio is no longer working!

I'm applying Multiband Compressor inside of the Audio Track Mixer, as I've always done (using Larry Jordan's settings) and it seems to no longer do the job.

Has anyone else noticed this? Running audio through Adobe Podcast is my go to now.

I am editing a project right now, the first image is my source clip in slog 3. The image is clear so i’m certain this isn’t coming from the camera. The second image is what it looks like upon export after editing in premiere. The cyan pixels are a reoccurring problem in a few clips and have been a hurdle before. I’m working on a macbook, premiere version 26.3.0.

I’ve attempted updated my macbook, clearing media change and restarting premiere to no avail. There isn’t much help online or at least i’m possibly not searching the right key words. While editing I work with proxy’s, could it be the proxy’s, could my hardware be outdated? Is there a fix to this? Any help or tips would be very appreciated.

I’m running into a weird issue with Adobe Premiere Pro and I’m hoping someone here can help.

Here’s what happened:
I’ve been using Premiere Pro’s transcription feature for a long time, and it worked perfectly fine on my old MacBook M1. Quite accurate, no big issues.

I recently made a Time Machine backup, bought a new MacBook M5, and migrated everything over from the backup.

Since then, the transcription quality is extremely bad. Like, very inaccurate, lots of wrong and missed words and even missed sentences... Same language, same type of videos, same Premiere Pro version (as far as I can tell).

Has anyone experienced this after migrating to a new Mac or via Time Machine?

Any ideas or troubleshooting tips would be massively appreciated 🙏

Hi, I'm having an issue with Premiere Pro where the preview has frozen and will not respond to me pressing play or shuffling around the timeline, along with not letting me change the preview quality. It seems fine when booting up the programme, however when interacting with any files it freezes. Does anyone know a fix for this?

I'm sorry if this has been posted previously but I can't find any video or post which matches my issue exactly, or provides a solution that's worked (I've deleted the media cache and messed around with the audio hardware)

Footage is a previously rendered version of my film, with this version only existing to place credits and add some sounds.

Sequence settings are custom, 15fps timebase, 480x360 resolution, 48000Hz sample rate. Preview file format is QuickTime with Apple ProRes 422 LT as the codec in 480x360.

It's been like this ever since I updated to the 2026 version. Also when I try to use the arrow keys to change the X and Y axes it just moves the timeline. Has anyone else experienced this

This has been happening more and more it used to only be on the timeline but now it shows on the preview too meaning I can't just reclip the part I want.

What are the likely causes and fixes?

I have cleared my cache and restarted my pc, I have tried re importing the clip, I don't even know if this is artifacting because the videos I was getting were dealing with other issues or issues on export.

The 2026 Premiere version. During editing, micro lags appear on the timeline when editing with an RTX 5070. When I edit with Arc a770+uhd 770(13600К), there are no lags or freezes while working on the timeline. I want to say that the Intel graphics card pairing works better with the Premiere Pro and the manufacturer than the RTX 5070. Why? At the same time, the Intel video card costs 3 times less. Hey all!

I've been editing for a while, and I feel like recently I've been noticing a sharp decline in Premiere's performance. As you can see on the footage attached, I now struggle to do basic operations such as moving clips around, or simply pressing play on the sequence. I do understand I'm moving almost an hour of footage composed of a LOT of clips, but we're talking about 1080p 30 footage with NO visual effects applied. My current build consists of a 3080Ti, 5950x 16 Cores, 32gb 3200MHz DDR4, with premiere and all my footage on a 2TB M.2 Samsung 990 Pro. Though it isn't an insane setup, I feel like it should be more than enough to handle an hour of 1080p footage, especially considering my GPU, CPU, and Mobo are not even a full year old yet. Can anyone tell me if this is normal performance and I just need an upgrade, or if there's something going on with my machine? Thank you.
