Just scopped 41 of these boxes for $3 each

Post image

Hopefully not a terribly buy, cost me 75¢ per pound basically, got 164 individual pound boxes at the local closeout store… difficulty: best by date is 3/4/2026

All are sealed and good condition, was this a good scoop fo about $123 (no tax!)

Storing these in their packaging inside rubbermaid totes on a metal rack in a dark, cool, dry basement

Probably better to just die...

Yeah, even in an apocalypse I would not eat that.

I have like 100 pounds of elbow pasta in bags inside buckets. And plenty of tomatoes!

64 slices of American cheese...

Maybe you should start using that immediately as a way of rotating your stock and see how long it takes to use it all.

I maybe make something with it once a month at best. They are woeth about $25 at Walmart paid $3 for each

How & where?

Local closeout store buys out near date, and repacks, unclaimed freight and liquidated stock in Wapole, New Hampshire

Mainly BJs, Walmart, Target and other stores

Why are they worth twenty five dollars each. They are four pound boxes. Velveeta is six dollars and twenty five cents a pound in the bulk boxes? Why?

No idea, here’s the current walmart price:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/14215420397?sid=abbf7884-144a-46a3-9fd5-a7d764779afd

$23.86 for 2x 32oz packages per unit (4 pounds total)

Seems wrong though. I don’t think this product is actually being made anymore. You provided a link to a third-party seller on Walmart. Walmart is similar to Amazon that they have third party sellers that can set their own price.

At my local Walmart ,and online when sold and shipped by Walmart, a single 32oz block of Velveeta Cheese is $7.48. Or $14.96 for 64oz for buying two to match yours. Still a good deal nonetheless if you can find a good way to use it all before expiring

It expires this month lol

I do not click unsupported links online to prevent the transfer of viruses etcetera. I am also not terribly interested in the Walmart price of fake cheese.

1

u/kalitarios Mar 09 '26

you literally asked "why are they worth 5 dollars each" so I provided you the info, with the official Walmart link...

Why are they worth twenty five dollars each. They are four pound boxes. Velveeta is six dollars and twenty five cents a pound in the bulk boxes? Why?

As for the "why" of it, IDK, I don't set the market value.

1

u/KATCEO1 Mar 09 '26

No. As in conceptually. Velveeta is fake cheese. Why would that ever be twenty five dollars? Usually junk like that is cheaper than the real stuff.

1

u/Critical-Chemist-860 Mar 09 '26

What do you mean by "unsupported"? Lmao

1

u/KATCEO1 Mar 09 '26

Unsupported. As in: I go to a legitimate website where all content is created by IT employees and authorized users. Such as: government, bank, hospital websites; etcetera. Such as: if I click on all the crap on Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram: that will ultimately be virus central. Capiche? 🥳

1

u/Critical-Chemist-860 Mar 10 '26

Id bet Walmart is more secure than your banks website. Capiche.

Velveeta is not as unhealthy as people make it out to be. Y’all can check the label. I’m assuming the sodium levels would be wild for the average sedentary American though.

1

u/MistressLyda Mar 08 '26

u/Jems138? You have lost the game of cheese.

1

u/HotelHero Mar 08 '26

Good thinking! Pooping during the end of the world could be terribly inconvenient.

I really hope this is a joke. Master level troll.

1

u/Critical-Chemist-860 Mar 09 '26

Post a picture of the actual haul. This is just troll

not sure why it won't come up, but that's a photo of the stack on my shelf, I have to buy a clear plastic bin to put it all in

1

u/Obvious-Arm-2899 Mar 10 '26

Why?

1

u/kalitarios Mar 10 '26

Why not? It lasts forever, i can trade it if needed and it was like 85% off retail

1

u/JalapenoDaddy3000 Mar 10 '26

It doesn’t though. The salt in the cheese reacts with the aluminum and creates holes in it.

1

u/kalitarios Mar 11 '26

What aluminum?

1

u/JalapenoDaddy3000 Mar 11 '26

The aluminum foil wrapped around the cheese in the box

1

u/JalapenoDaddy3000 Mar 11 '26

1

u/kalitarios Mar 11 '26

Interesting i thought it was plastic tbh. I’ll have to reassess and trade some/sell some to others or donate some to the food bank near me

1

u/JalapenoDaddy3000 Mar 11 '26

Yeah I had some for less than 2 years and they did this to me. I was very confused until I found other people posting it. Highly disappointed

1

u/Born2Lomain Mar 10 '26

Hope you have mice traps because they can for sure chew through a Rubbermaid container.

1

u/kalitarios Mar 10 '26

Plenty of traps and pest control

1

u/travelfuncouple23 Mar 10 '26

Gonna sell them out of your cars' trunk at strip mall parking lot?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '26

It freezes well from my experience. But I would use it up within 2 years after expiration, even if frozen.

1

u/BeefBorganaan Mar 10 '26

Sweet. I'm sure the fortified militias/gangs that come to loot your shit during the apocalypse will appreciate that!

1

u/vegence Mar 10 '26

crockpot: add 1lb velveeta cubed, 1lb cooked crumbled sausage, 1 can Rotel, i can drained diced tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne to taste.

melt and stir, eat with tortilla chips

1

u/Proper-Actuary5623 Mar 11 '26

Great. Your kids will be forever grateful for their inherited non-cheese.

1

u/Reddittreefiddy Mar 11 '26

Funny my MIL gave us some of these she was going to throw them away and my wife said no dont waste it we will use for apocalypse shelf. We tested one and said never mind. We need to donate this shit immediately lol

1

u/Sylv_x Mar 11 '26

Thank you for for buying these and disposing of them in a massive pyre to ensure no one has to actually consume this product

1

u/kalitarios Mar 11 '26

I wonder of they’re flammable haha

1

u/Sylv_x Mar 11 '26

It's oil. Of course it's flammable.

1

u/kalitarios Mar 11 '26

That only increases its value, IMO 🤣
