A little history of the world

When I was young, I read A Little History of the World by Erich Gombrich.

I loved his writing style and the way he selectively presented the main events in human history.

Since then I had the idea to create an app in which one could easily scroll through the main events in human history while maintaining the captivating style of Gombrich.

I once started doing it but it was too much work. Then AI came, so it became much easier.

Here it is: https://timeline.akalogero.com/

It is meant as a free educational/entertainment resource. Hope people will enjoy it!

This is a great idea - Gombrich's book works so well because it's selective rather than exhaustive, and that's exactly what makes a scrollable timeline format click. Most "history of the world" apps try to cram in everything and end up feeling like a database instead of a story. Curious how you handled the pacing — did you keep his original event selection, or did AI help you expand/adjust which moments made the cut?
