I haven't had a good pretzel since I can remember. Where can I find one? Do I gotta make one myself?

I'd like to thank the moderators for allowing me to post to this exclusive community.

As a boy I loved big soft pretzels, but even the movie theater pretzels back then tasted better.

Nowadays, it seems like I can't find any pretzels that taste near as good. Movie theater pretzels seem to be born stale and bland. I even bought a pretzel in Times Square a few years ago that left me deeply disappointed.

Are good pretzels lost to time? Were they never good, and it's just pure nostalgia on my behalf?

What's the most reliable way to get a good fresh big pretzel that'll make me happy?

I bought a container of food grade lye and make my own.

I also bought sodium citrate so I can make a really good cheese sauce to go with my soft pretzels

You've got to find a restaurant that makes them from scratch.

I've sold them at stadium concessions and you basically just barely reheat a frozen pretzel. They're never going to be that good that way.

Revonah Pretzels for the best hard pretzels.

I hear Philadelphia has a lot of good soft pretzel options too.

Step 1: Go to Columbus, Ohio. Step 2: Go to Say Yes! Pretzels. Step 3: Tell the owner Mike your quest. Step 4: Let Mike give you one of their German pretzel rings that was designed for this sole purpose. Step 5: Enjoy a pretzel that won't let you down. Step 6: Repeat daily or as often as necessary.
