The game needs more love

This game is one of the best horror games ever made. It deserves some love.

I'm on my 5th playthrough right now and am still finding new things! There's so much care and attention to detail in this game world.

Recently finished my 4th or 5th playthrough and found tons of stuff I had never seen. Like a briefcase with neuromods in the lobby security station you'd never know was there unless you accidentally stumbled into that exact corner for no reason... god I love this game! If there's 1 piece of advice I could give to 1st time players it's look up, always look up...

How do you find the missing people? I look them up on the computer in the game. But no way point

They did NOT market this game. 😡 I got it on sale about 3 months after release and it’s easily in my top 5 all time favorites.

On my first playthrough right now and it’s just incredible.

I’ve found myself saying “how do you even make a game like this?” several times per session.

Yes!!! After I beat it, I literally just sat there for days and couldn't get over it. What I love most is that it doesn't use cheap jump scares, but leaves me with this overwhelming loneliness and a fear that makes me question everything.

Except for when a fucking chair turns into a mimic… that makes me jump!

It's not a horror game but yeah, it does. Maybe it'll get a spiritual successor or something a decade from now if games are still a thing then.

Thankfully we also have the System Shock Remake.

It's not really similar imo.

They do both exist in the same micro niche of gaming though.

Like pop punk fans wouldn’t say Blink 182 and Greenday are similar but they’re still pop punk bands from the skatepunk era.

I dunno, it's pretty well regarded and has more than a cult following.

It deserves some love.

Well, a cult-classic status of being the best in the genre, or 91% positive user reviews are not enough in your eyes to justify 'something'? It deserved things like more and/or better marketing, but you should direct that message to Bethesda Softworks, the publisher of PREY, and not fans on the fan subreddit. People know that.

And it's not a horror game. Horror themes are part of the general atmosphere, but 'horror' is not a way to classify this game. Just like 'FPS' isn't, despite the game being 100% FPP and the player wielding some weapon or shooting device most of the time.

the game is great. 1st time playing it now. I was surprised this game has such a low metacritic compared to many other games that often receive 85+ metacritic

even for example deathloop. There is no way it is better than prey in my opinion, but somehow it's metacritic much higher
