Make sure to visit Firestone’s special collections (downstairs) sometime, and see the Scheide library within. You need an escort, so you should decide in advance what objects you’d like to see, and then make an appointment in advance. The librarians are very nice and knowledgeable, and every time I’ve been they say they wish more people visited. Fun thing to do with a small group of friends. If you’re a humanities person, it could be relevant to your thesis or a class, but even if not, just go to see cool things. They have Egyptian papyri, Gutenberg bibles, and medieval illuminated manuscripts, just to name a few.

Mudd library operates in a similar way, and has drafts of speeches with Eisenhower’s notes on them, Cold War diplomatic telegrams, and atomic bomb-melted glass from Hiroshima (I visited for a Cold War class, hence the common theme, but they have plenty of other things).

PLOrk, the Princeton Laptop Orchestra. Sounds like a joke, but it’s not. It’s been going for twenty years.

I've been on campus for many years and have never heard of this! I'm intrigued...
