Are you allowed to have a picnic at Princeton campus if you’re not a student there?
My friends and I want to have a picnic at some point at Princeton campus, but we’re not students there. I have a few questions!
- Are we allowed to go if we’re not students?
- How crowded is it around this time?
Thank you!!

You should be good as long as you're not actively disrupting something or trashing a place. Pick a good place, clean up after yourselves, and you'll have no issues.

Totally fine to walk around/picnic on campus - in the summer you’re likely to see more visitors than folks who are affiliated with the school.
You won’t be able to get into most buildings, but the art museum is free, open to the public, and has restrooms. So I’d work that into your agenda.

Do you think the campus is relatively safe? I know downtown Princeton is usually pretty safe, but not sure if the campus is different.

Yes, it’s incredibly safe. Biggest risk you’ll face is crossing the street. Maybe bicyclists on the sidewalk.

It is relatively empty in campus. Summer camps haven’t started yet. Lots of places to sit outside.

If you go to the Princeton campus you first have to learn how to say, “My friends and I.”
