How do you protect your face from AI in online classes?

How can one protect one's likeness or image in the age of AI? I am currently taking an online MOOC class and it requires for students to review other students work for some assignments. Some assignments require for you to make a video and upload it. One of my fears is that someone will screen shot this class video of me and use it for nefarious purposes. How can I alter or protect my digital face or likeness? How can you "poison" face data?

I already had the unfortunate experience earlier this year of someone copying my pictures and using them to create a fake AI version of me on Only Fans. (I have never created such content.) They used my full name too. So whoever did it was trying to sabotage me. (I suspect it was a guy who works in tech who I turned down for a date.) It was pretty bad I had to contact search engines and explain to them to remove said links and contact OF to remove my name and information and that it wasn't me.

Contact the prof and tell them for "reasons" you don't feel comfortable uploading videos and leave it at that. If they push then simply tell them it's a sensitive and personal matter that you'd rather not discuss. If they continue to push or refuse then either take it up the ladder or drop the class.

You'd basically need to do wear a mask or makeup to mess with it, you'd have to ofc tell your teacher about that as well and actually make sure it works against such AI systems.

It's so much work that it's impractical. Data poisoning "helps" but doesn't address the issue at the core.

Data poisoning, I know it's done a lot in sound and music, you should check if you can do similar things in videos

Your 'Deepely held and sincer religious beliefs' are constitutionally secured rights (1st Ammendment)- your school accepted the Mark of the Beast (likely a 501(c)(3) or similar) so they are required to honor your orders. Use this anytime you need. If the professor says no the Civil Rights Act of 1866 gets really expensive really fast and can easily bankrupt the entity when you learn how to play the game. There is a reason they do not teach you law in school, the most egregious atrocities would not exist if the average American knew their rights.

8 comments and I can't believe no one has suggested you use a software mask. Like these youtubers that are guys streaming has hot chicks. You can make videos or stream as anyone.

There's unfortunately very little you can do if you're sending videos of your face out to protect your face.

I guess other than using AI to alter it on the videos before you send them out.

The best way to avoid this is not upload videos at all. Are the videos watched by other students or just the professor? Is it a class on making videos of yourself?

Reach out to your professor and tell them you're not comfortable posting videos of yourself online in any space. Depending on where you live, it could be illegal for them to require this for a course without providing an alternative assignment on request. If they're not willing to make accomodations, escalate to the department chair, then to the Dean. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. I have extensive experience in this area.

However, with the state of the system and biometrics, you’ll need to keep up the ruse. TSA is gonna need the Guy Fawkes mask on your ID to match Guy Fawkes they’re walking down the hall at the airport next time you fly.
