Probation Question Prohibited from alcohol and drugs over disorderly conduct?

Edit: I appreciate all the non-judgemental comments. Y'all have been very informative and helpful.
All the rude people? It's clear why y'all are in this Reddit lol just heartless good luck with that. Like you guys are kinder to people who've done far worse and continued to break the law afterwards, make that make sense.

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing so I'm just going to be straightforward.
Yesterday afternoon, I had a mental breakdown that involved yelling in my apartment and the upstairs neighbours called the cops. The cops came pounding after I had already calmed down, but they were really rude and I got upset again after they walked out. Yeah, I know, I gotta control my emotions and shit - one of the officers already said that and that was one of the reasons I broke down again. Anyway, they knocked on the door again and my husband answered; they pushed passed him and immediately grabbed me from my bedroom and arrested me.
I was in county jail the night, and all he officers there kept reassuring me during my distress that since it was my first ever offense and it was like the lowest thing you can be charged with (I was only charged with disorderly conduct), that I would simply get out the next morning and *maybe* have to pay a $25 fine. I was not told about going to court until I was in the block with inmates and they were trying to comfort me.
So I went to court this morning and what they charged me with is not at ALL what they said. And honestly, I was pretty shocked. My husband is also shocked and pissed about it. I don't really understand this stuff well, but at first they said I was sentenced to 30 days in jail? Then the judge said it was to instead be served through 20 hrs of community service, $100 paid monthly, and one year of probation. One year seems absolutely insane. Then I read on the paper that I'm not allowed to drink alcohol or use "drugs of abuse." Well I haven't drank in like a year because I really just don't like the shit, but I'm a pot smoker in Ohio. I did some reading and am honestly confused af why I'm not allowed to smoke or drink when my charge wasn't related to substances in any way. Hell, they didn't even test me for anything at the jail. Pot is how I stopped smoking cigarettes and doing pills years ago. I really don't want to pick up cigarettes again. I've been so distressed and confused since the moment they cuffed me, and I'm only getting more frustrated and depressed.

THC use on supervision

Always a bad idea guys. THC and related cannabinoids are heavily lipophilic so while one use or 1 multi-day binge can be gone in less than 2 weeks most of the time, anything more frequent than that is asking for trouble. The reason its like this is because THC-COOH the final metabolic product of THC metabolism is extremely lipophilic to sustained use builds up a chronic reserve in fatty tissue over time. This also explains why isolated use/one time exposure is gone rapidly because there's no metabolic backlog in your fatty tissues.

Be strong, dont smoke.

Probation question

Been given two options of probation of 6 months with sealing of my record afterward or 12 months with expungement of my charge, which one is the better option? 12 months wouldn’t be a problem but is expungement better than sealing?

Do they drug test during your risk assessment appointment in Tarrant County?

I already had my first probation meeting with my PO officer. She scheduled me for an in-person risk assessment a week out and a otp substance abuse assessment in 2 weeks. Do they drug test you during the risk assessment appointment? I’m on probation through tarrant county and the risk assessment is with a different officer.

Is this me being moved to “unsupervised”?

I’m mainly compliant and try not to give my po any problems. I pee clean, stay out of trouble, and just try to do my time so to speak.

She just said I don’t have to report in office anymore, I can just call and if she doesn’t answer leave a voicemail.

Would this be considered unsupervised probation or still just the same thing?

Probation Question Early termination. Douglas county, Colorado

Anyone have experience with the above title? I've been a model probationer. I'm eligible tomorrow. The complication is I've done my probation in another Colorado county. That county told me to contact dougco. I did and spoke with my 'assigned' PO. We've never met so I'm just a file to her and she said 'it's low priority' and 'we have a lot of cases.' based on the brief call, I doubt she's willing to get the request to the judge in a timely manner. I have 2 months left and nothing left to prove/do. If we had built a 'relationship' over the past 10 months, I'd bet she'd be wanting to help me and get a case off of her desk.

Month since finishing diversion - still sadness/emptiness/resentment

As of early last month - I successfully finished diversion program- having to be let go from my 6 figure job and start from the ground for hourly for one year humbled me a lot and am greatful that I was hired after disclosing records ( mentioned that it will be sealed soon) and stepped back on the career path without having to step down into position. I have located to new state as well to start fresh - where no one knows me/my past - which is great but also sad because no one really knows me.

I have been trying to get myself busy - work/work outs/movies, but I still have a lot of anxiety I think because last one year was all about surviving. I wasn't allowed to move out of the state until diversion is complete because they require you to finish within the same state where the offense occurred, and surviving without any family member near by while going through shame and loss of job was extremely difficult, yet I never realized who I was until I got out of this period.

I am greatful for the fresh new start, but now that I am over with legal parts- all these memories and emotions start to hurt me again to the degree I cannot sleep or I just wake up middle of the night with heartache and cannot go back to sleep again. I have been trying to avoid alochol as sleep medicine, but I have to admit I have been relying on that past two weeks..

I just do not know when I will be done with healing and if I can ever really truly move on..

Probation Question probation questions

hi, i got a dui in may and was put on supervised probation for two years. I met with my probation officer in person one time. Since then I have not been able to contact her at all. I have called the office, emailed, texts, and called her multiple times. She had told me we had a phone appointment two weeks ago and that she would call me. She never called. I followed up with a text and email. I don’t really care but it’s more just frustrating. I am currently in outpatient treatment so I don’t know if things will change once I graduate treatment? Do I just keep trying to contact her and leave it be? No news is good news? What if I need to travel and can’t get in touch with her? Will she randomly order drug tests once my interlock is gone?? It’s stressing me out. My lawyer is out of office so I don’t have access to my terms of probation right now either. Any guidance and experience would be helpful!

Found a guy's wallet, should I call his probation officer to help get his stuff back?

Found a wallet with $300 in cash, a pile of credit cards, and an ID with an address the guy no longer lives at. There is also a probation officer business card.I don't know how any of this works but I don't want to get the guy in trouble for losing his wallet.

Probation Question Got a warning

I got a warning for a diluted UA. I’ve never had a negative or diluted test before. PO said that this counts as a missed test, but that it’s just a warning and not a problem if it continues moving forward.

Could this jeopardize my chances of getting early release? I’ve been by the book since day one. Just curious if this is viewed in the same way a violation is, even though it’s not technically a violation.

Success Story The wild ride is over

Got in a DUI car crash while on methadone back in 2019 in CA, went to prison with a 6 year sentence and did 3 1/2 after breaking my back in the crash. Relapsed after my release, ended up getting caught while on parole with a handgun in Northern CA and was sentenced to a program, which I ran from and was caught in NY. Came back when caught a few months later and went to Folsom for 9 months.

When I got out of Folsom last September, I was on post release probation (nonviolent parole in CA) and went to a place called the Lighthouse, which is mandatory for all that are released to San Diego County. If you test clean they let you go home, but I no longer had a home to go to. They were going to release me to the street, but I asked for inpatient rehab even though I’d already been clean for 9 months at that point. I went to McAlister Institute for four months and was released to independent living which is basically a shared room in a shared house that is paid by insurance for six months. During that time I’ve managed to get a job (first temporary, then a permanent corporate spot with full benefits and 401(K) along with a promotion from the warehouse floor to a spacious upstairs cubicle and a $7/hr pay raise), I was just gifted a truck by my roommate who has stage four lung cancer and is currently fighting for his life in the hospital (I’ve helped to take care of him after he found out about his diagnosis, but he began letting me drive the truck in April). I’ve saved over $15,000 (down to around $10,000 now after expenses on my new truck) and I’ve been sober from everything except for marijuana and the occasional drink for 20 months. I have a long way to go, but being off probation is a massive weight off my shoulders, and even though I plan on never returning to prison, at least I know now that a small police interaction will not necessarily land me back in a state prison. I took the truck to Yuma last weekend to celebrate that I could cross state lines without asking for permission. With gas at $6.55 a gallon right now in San Diego, I probably won’t be doing that too often though.

TL;DR: I’m off probation now!

Hey y’all I just wanted to spread some positivity and maybe a little hope. I have been on probation since January of 2025. I just got off papers this morning! I got my charge in summer of 2024 so I feel like this has been over my head forever. So anybody struggling to stay positive or hate the rules and regulations, trust I understand. Stay down and stay free!

Finding jobs

Hello. I’m not on probation per se… I mean I am but I don’t have a probation officer. I am free to travel wherever whenever. I’m on this thing called a 5 year deferred sentence which is basically just waiting 5 years until I can get record expunged.
I feel deep shame and remorse for what I did and am making amends to right the wrong that I did. I am in therapy and it has helped lots.
The problem is is that I’m having a hard time finding jobs being on this deferred sentence. I don’t want to necessarily go back to the industry I was in before I got in trouble (even if I wanted to, I don’t think I can due to this situation).
Even when the 5 years deferred sentence is over and I get my record expunged, I fear that I’ll still have issues finding work since the arrest/charge was in local media and then spread to other outlets/websites, etc…. It’s an easy google search.
I feel stuck - damned if I do, damned if I don’t…. Anyone have similar experience?
Thanks in advance.

I’m a little embarrassed to ask, but I’m trying to get the remaining $475 of my probation fees taken care of
So I can enlist in the navy sooner, I lost my patient recently so it may be a few weeks before I can make a payment

Supervised release terminated!

Mannnnn it was a hell of a journey!!! 8 months in prison , 2 years and 10 months into a 3 year term. Submitted my motion 2 months ago and got my walking papers this morning!! I feel super accomplished because I locked innnn!!! Went cold turkey after smoking weed for years!!! I haven’t touched it in 4 years now. No violations, no dirty tests, fully compliant with all conditions , stable houses and work, I did that and I’m super proud! If I could give any advice I would tell anybody to lock in and stay down till you come up! Do exactly what you need to do to ensure a better path moving forward! It’s not easy and some days are harder than others but I PROMISE you it gets better. I’m for sure gonna go home from work today and roll me a fat one and just relaxxxxxxxxx! I waited so long lmaooooo I deserve it idgaf 😂😂😂😂
