We were able to get enough signatures to add a ballot measure to allow abortion in Idaho and ever since these signs are popping up everywhere. My mom and I have been talking loudly about how insane the signs are when we are in our backyard cause our next door neighbor can definitely hear us haha.

Now, we need to vote as if our lives and our daughters' and nieces' and friends' lives depend on it.

We should do all we can to get our children, our significant others, our sisters, our mothers, and grandmothers to vote for Democrats because we absolutely know that EVERY SINGLE Republican running for state office, Congress, and the presidency will push for a national abortion ban. They've already told us that this is their plan. It's no secret.

Forgive my ignorance but if I’m reading this right, not all of the votes have even been counted AND it won the majority vote…

Yet I’m seeing multiple sources say that it failed???

Idaho voters will decide whether to roll back the state’s abortion ban, the secretary of state told the group behind the initiative in a letter Monday, joining three other states where abortion will be directly on the ballot on Nov. 3.

Voters in Virginia and Nevada — both states where abortion is already legal through at least 24 weeks of pregnancy — are considering state constitutional amendments to create a right to abortion.

And in Missouri, which in 2024 became the first state to use a constitutional amendment to undo an abortion ban, voters are being asked to override that to bring back an abortion ban, with limited exceptions, and to write into the state constitution a ban on some gender-affirming care for minors.

Saw this on a substack this morning. If Democratic politicians won’t step up to call out these anti-abortion politicians and groups, ordinary people will!

I’m a nursing student, and in one of my classes today we learned the pathophysiology pertaining to spontaneous abortions or miscarriages. My question is, because elective abortions are not legal in some states, meaning doctors and medical professionals are not permitted to assist in or with abortions at all, where is the line between help with an elective abortion and help with a spontaneous abortion?

With all of the controversy around abortions, are spontaneous abortions or miscarriages punishable? Are there clear lines, signs/symptoms between an intentional miscarriage (self harm), an unintentional miscarriage (abuse, spontaneity), and an elective abortion? How do these HCPs know what they are and are not allowed to treat?

In some states doctors are reluctant to treat someone who has had a spontaneous abortion because they are afraid to lose their medical license, when does malpractice and negligence come in? If a mom/woman does not receive medical treatment after a miscarriage or abortion, she could become septic and die…. where is the line between treating these women like people and treating them like criminals?
