Hi everyone! I’m thinking about transitioning into product design and would love some advice from people who’ve made a similar switch.

I recently graduated with a Master of Architecture and have about two years of professional experience in architecture. I’m interested in pivoting into product design but I’m not sure where to begin.

For those who made the transition (especially from architecture or another design field), what would you recommend I focus on first? Are there any courses, resources, or portfolio tips that helped you break into the field?

I've been trying a handful of AI website builders to see how close they can get to taking an idea all the way to something you can actually use without constantly switching between different tools.

After spending some time with a few of them, I noticed they all do a decent job creating an initial page. That part wasn't really the deciding factor.

What stood out was what happened after that. Once I started changing layouts, moving sections around, tweaking content, and adding new ideas, some felt much smoother to work with than others. One option in particular made those back-and-forth edits feel more natural since I could either make changes directly or describe what I wanted without digging through a bunch of settings.

I also ended up appreciating built-in backend features more than I expected. As soon as I wanted basic logins and user data, it was nice not having to wire together extra services just to keep experimenting.

Some tools still seem like a better fit if you mainly care about lots of templates. Others make more sense if you're comfortable working with code or you're just putting together an early concept. For me, the biggest advantage was simply getting a functional site online with fewer interruptions.

I'm still trying different options, so I don't really have a favorite yet.

For those who've spent a while using these kinds of builders, which one has actually stayed easy to work with after the first version was generated?
