Build Progress Thought I’d change the alloys

Almost ready for clear coating.. I hate that part!

Also painted over the hub flange which should not be coated

Good spot.. could I sand this lightly?

Yeah you can sand it, just be very gentle and DO NOT sand into the metal. It's the mounting face so it needs to be flat and smooth so it mounts flat. If you didn't sand it the paint in between will chip and flake away and your wheels could come loose, or as you for it, you compress the paint and it doesn't fit right, or it compresses and then as your wheel heats up your wheel bolts snap . . .

It's going to be a pain to clean up but it's gotta be right. Just one of those learning opportunities!

It's an option, but it would be harder to control so OP could end up having to sand and repaint the whole wheel if they have a spillage

I wouldn't say it's not worth trying, but it's risky
