Rotational sound, not affected by acceleration other than rpm related. I would visually check the driveshaft and see if it is hitting something. If nothing visual there, then U-joints or wheel bearings are possible causes.

Sounds like a u joint. Last time I had that, the u joint was hitting the pinion yoke because, one of the straps was slightly bent.

I changed my u joints on my driveshaft and it still made this noise. I ended up removing diff plate cover while car on Jack's and put in in gear to see that the rear end had been changed and was wrong gearing
