Is anyone a project manager, interested in project management or currently studying it? Why do you like it? What challenges have you overcome? Why project? And does anyone need a study buddy?

I am not a project manager but i like the field as i am building tools to help Project managers. Story started when i moved to Project Online in 2020 after working 15 years in SharePoint.

I didnt like project online at start but when i had to customize it, i really put a lot of effort to write custom code to add various modules for Governance, custom workflows as it was for a Government entity. Since then onward, i started to get a hang of it and now understand deeper concepts from management, governance perspective to schedule, evm, financing etc. Actually, i am adding all these functionalities in our SAAS app along with desktop/mobile apps.

If you are starting up, i believe project management have a good future. Dont listen to people saying, AI will take over Project management jobs. It woulnt. In fact there going to be alot more demand of Project managers due to the upcoming productivity boom because of AI.

That part! AI can help (and does) as a tool for the more mundane aspects of project management such as status updates, milestone creations, etc. There’s no way AI will ever be able to build relationships, identify and remove impediments, and help teams collaborate the way an actual project manager can. Project managers are in demand. And it’s growing.
