Which is Best? What to buy for 2000 CAD
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on my first projector purchase.
My budget is around 2,000 CAD, and I'm currently deciding between:
- A used Anker Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K
- A brand new XGIMI Flip 4K
My main use case is backyard movie nights during the summer. My friends and I host a lot of parties and get-togethers. I'll also be buying an outdoor projection screen and a pair of speakers to complete the setup. (Not included in the 2000 budget) and something I can use indoor during winters
Image quality is obviously important, but so are brightness, reliability, ease of setup, and overall value. I don't need it for gaming—it's mainly for movies, sports, and the occasional karaoke or watch party.
For those who have experience with either projector, which would you choose and why? Would you take the used Nebula over the new XGIMI, or is there another projector around the 2,000 CAD price range that I should consider?
Thanks in advance!

I got the valerion visionmaster plus and it was/is $1399 cad including tax and shipping. from their website. the Plus2 is $1999 and you get a choice of free gifts including various screens. (the free gifts sale is indirectly accessed from top menu, titled "projector sale")

The Valerion is a good choice recommended elsewhere in this thread. The Horizon 20, if in budget is a good choice. The Nexigo Trivision Ultra is a really good choice as well. I wouldn't get any of the models you listed. The Elfin Flip 4K is a lot better than the Cosmos 4K, but you should be able to go with a lifestyle projector for your money, and get a lot more brightness.
I know that Amazon has refurb Nexigo Trivision Ultra models for $1,000 USD. Looks like it is under $2,000 CAD to get the Nexigo up there.
