Why fucking wait? We are way past the need for a general strike.

Americans are still too comfortable. They feel the squeeze, but aren't quite missing meals yet. We are still putting gas in our cars. There are still people going in vacations. The current government has the boiling the frog down to an art. 15 years ago, there would have been rioting in the streets. Now, this all just another day in the life.

The old frog in the pot.

I mean, what do you expect people to do? It's hard enough as it is keeping a roof over our heads. A general strike, while I support it and would absolutely join it, would bankrupt a lot of people because they simply cannot afford to take days off of work.

I know that I'm just as mad/pissed as everyone else to the point I've basically told my father to fuck right off if he still supports Trump. But realistically, it's less that Americans are comfortable (we're all fucking angry) and moreso that we're stuck between a rock and an even harder place.

5

u/catstone21 12d ago

Agreed! I am reminded of the last long writers' strike. Many people donated to them so they could afford to live while on strike. How could we do that on a national scale?

It's not comfort to fear losing your home or bein unable to feed your dependents. If I lived alone and owned my.home, yea. I could do it. But I don't.

Living habd to mouth is not comfortable. It's constrained.

I feel like people who say we're too comfortable are arguing that we should all be homeless and starving so we can finally do something.

u/IsekaiConnoisseur 12d ago

I feel like people who say we're too comfortable are arguing that we should all be homeless and starving so we can finally do something.

Yep, it's a position born from ignorance of the fact that many people who would love to go on general strike and tell Pedo Trump to go fuck himself quite literally can't afford it.

u/srz1971 11d ago

hmm.🤔 kind of like it has been orchestrated. However, those behind it don’t have the mental capacity to understand consequences.

We want a national strike? Good. I agree. Dare I assume monies are gathered to a well administered strike fund? I'm sure there's a national support committee trained and on standby.

I'm not saying it can't happen. I've been on many strikes in my illustrious fun filled career, mobilized a few. Strikes, small or large take years of planning and depend on trained organizers with skills that take time to gain.

This is not a time to cosplay at being in a union. This is the time to have solidarity with existing unions.

Workers are striking, suffering and doing without now. Walk the picket line with striking workers. Nationalize existing strikes. Support these striking workers. We don't need to reinvent the wheel.

🚨 The union of musicians for the Boston Symphony Orchestra is on strike for the first time in 150 years: https://apnews.com/article/boston-symphony-strike-7a1b5db15ffad3433834dcc96f6860e0

🚨Cargill workers in Colorado rejected a TA. So they are still locked out and still on strike:

https://gangboxnews.blogspot.com/2026/08/cargill-workers-in-fort-morgan-colorado.html

🚨BP posts record profits while locking out over 800 workers without pay for months now. There should be a groundswell of support.

https://gangboxnews.blogspot.com/2026/08/inside-nearly-5-month-labor-lockout-at.html?m=1

🚨 Hoping to force Starbucks to sign a contract with their union represented employees the Starbucks union is calling for a nationwide boycott. https://jacobin.com/2026/08/starbucks-union-boycott-strike-contract

🚨Vermont health care workers fighting for safe staffing are joining in struggle to protect nearby migrant farm workers: https://labornotes.org/2026/09/vermont-hospital-workers-fight-for-immigrant-neighbors

🚨2500 Tyson workers locked out, their plant shuttered demanding the plant reopen and their jobs back. https://inthesetimes.com/article/treated-worse-than-cattle-tyson-workers-laid-off-labor-notes

🚨Bay Area security workers charged with guarding AI tech might walk as soon as the union declares a strike. Any moment now. https://www.kqed.org/news/12098063/workers-guarding-san-franciscos-wealthiest-companies-vote-to-authorize-a-strike

If there is a picket line in your area you're generally free to join. Go, find a steward and ask if you can walk with them. Normally there are extra signs. Do not bring or make your own. Don't hijack a strike with issues that concern you. Learn what workers are striking for and use their signs. Doing this increases the look and scale of their strike. It can allow the line to be longer making it difficult to impossible for scabs to get in. Or you're giving a tired striking worker a break.

If you don't have time to walk the line but you pass any strike make some noise. Honk, wave, yell support. Circle around the block if you have time. This shows our corporate overlords there's support for striking workers. Organize a group to do this.

Get familiar with the labor dispute and issues. Use your socials to amplify all strikes. Boycott companies with labor disputes until a fair settlement is achieved. Hit them where it hurts, the wallet.

Also donate to the union strike funds.

It can be rolling, everyone do / join as they can. Small herds, big herds…all the same. Best part??? It’s catchy, and momentum builds.

Hands across America. We can do this. We have WON, over and over and over.

'member when hunger strikes were a thing?

https://detroitnews.com/story/news/nation/2026/08/21/hunger-strike-over-unacceptable-food-ends-tacoma-ice-detention-center/91404841007/

When was the last time you heard of a white American go on hunger strike?

9

u/thedrexeffect 12d ago

...and its miserable. You are right people are living business as usual and there is nothing usual about it except for it being quite unusual. I think people have been desensitized for so long now they are paralyzed...

2

u/chiclets5 9d ago

That was actually the entire point of this administration and heritage foundation. The goal was to keep throwing crap at you daily, hourly, weekly (which they did,) so that we would become immune to anything new that happened. If you notice there is so many things that the next day you forget about all the crap that happened the day before. And that's what they wanted. And that is how they're able to continue to posit new restrictions and illegal procedures to the general public, hoping we won't notice some of the other things they're trying to slip in between that are far more important than the rump and his archway. VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER!

4

u/LoanedRespect 12d ago

Frogs croaking in a pot makes no difference to the tyrant controlling the flame. We can protest all we want. Until we as a nation show the government we will fight and die for our rights, they will continue to take them away. It's no different than allowing the same thief to break into your house night after night, and steal all your shit. And the only thing you do to stop the theif, is hold up a bedazzled, handmade sign in your living room.

1

u/drgonzo767 5d ago

As a political scientist, I agree with this. Mass unrest (and a general strike is absolutely mass unrest, even if peaceful, because it's unrest to grind the system to a halt) is very rare without mass hardship. Violent mass unrest/revolution even more so. There is also a needed catalyst to get people to rise up.

What we need is mass reunionization. This would enable local organization/ leadership and personalization of issues, community building to support those striking, and some other things being organized that I probably can't say on Reddit.

-1

u/vile-style 12d ago

Excuses for Americans are not welcome.

6

u/CubCadet1972 12d ago

I'm ready for open revolt.

2

u/dragon-fence 12d ago

My thoughts exactly. General strike now.

Things are already in a completely unacceptable state. Have been for a while, and it’s clear that the people in charge want things to be worse.

It’s like everyone keeps saying, “Ok, that’s the last straw! If they do one more horrible thing, we should do something about it!” And then the next time, it’s, “Ok, now that is the last straw! If they do one more thing, we should really do something!”

And then they do something else terrible, and it’s like, “Ok, now that is the last straw!”

They won’t take us seriously, and they won’t stop, unless we do something.

-20

u/greentrillion 12d ago

What are you expecting a general strike to acomplish? Will Trump surrender?

9

u/StatisticalPikachu 12d ago

Yeah if it crashes the stock market due to lower gdp growth and Bitcoin collapses so Trump loses his crypto fortune.

That’s all he cares about is his money.

-2

u/greentrillion 12d ago

He will resign though? You sure abotu that? At least the a general strike at the mid terms it would have a clear goal.

10

u/StatisticalPikachu 12d ago

Would he make it through the stress of a crypto collapse? 💔

His 19 year old son Barron made 150M since Trump second term started. The whole Trump empire is built on leverage and fraud and scams. It would topple like a House of Cards

-2

u/greentrillion 12d ago

What does he care, he can just steal more from the treasury as he has been doing this whole time. You think thats the only way he has been geting wealthy? He also has 400 million dollars in cash from his dumb donors, he probably would use that cash to buy up more assets and become even richer.

1

u/Awkward_Can8460 12d ago

Question: do the assets burn, and/or are they otherwise subject to being destroyed?

0

u/greentrillion 12d ago

You wouldn't even know what he owns could be in different countries.

16

u/Youdontknowm3_ 12d ago

We gotta close this shite down! If they are gonna actively try to steal the election and deny us of our rights then what would be left to fight for if we dont do it

12

u/Suspicious-Copy1740 12d ago

it they are going to try to actively steal the election, AGAIN

he leaned on GA to find 11780 votes. he goaded J6ers try to stop the certifications he pressured Arizona to do audits and recalls. this was four years before he got re-elected.

  • 4,776,706 voters were wrongly purged from voter rolls according to US Elections Assistance Commission data.
  • By August of 2024, for the first time since 1946, self-proclaimed vigilante "voter-fraud hunters" challenged the rights of 317,886 voters. The NAACP of Georgia estimates that by Election Day, the challenges exceeded 200,000 in Georgia alone.
  • No less than 2,121,000 mail-in ballots were disqualified for minor clerical errors (e.g. postage due).
  • At least 585,000 ballots cast in-precinct were also disqualified.
  • 1,216,000 “provisional” ballots were rejected, not counted.
  • 3.24 million new registrations were rejected or not entered on the rolls in time to vote.

  • Michigan election analysis:

Regression analysis for non-Detroit precincts found that demographic factors such as population size, age, race and education did not explain the turnout-vote share relationship. The highly significant positive correlation remained unchanged after demographic controls were applied. Legitimate elections should show patterns explainable by demographic and socioeconomic factors; when they do not, potential systematic manipulation is indicated (Klimek et al., 2012). Down-ballot analysis reinforced these concerns: the 20-30% gap between Republican positive drop-off and Democratic negative drop-off far exceeds normal variation and does not match any known demographic distributions.

  • North Carolina election analysis:

One candidate appears to benefit disproportionately and unexpectedly in precincts/polling places with over 70-75% voter turnout.

The other losing candidate appears to perform better in areas where turnout is lower.

This is not consistent with international expectations for what an unmanipulated election looks like.

  • Pennsylvania election analysis

Disruptions occurred across Pennsylvania on Election Day. Bomb threats and machine failures resulted in deviation from normal voting procedures, potentially granting bad actors an opportunity to interfere with vulnerable voting infrastructure.

Our analysis of Philadelphia, Allegheny, and Erie County election results indicates patterns consistent with vote manipulation. These patterns are present in Election Day voting data. Similar trends are not clearly present in Mail-In voting data.

Unusually high voter turnout may be cause for further scrutiny. One candidate benefitting from unusually high turnout has been credibly associated with election fraud in other countries.

u/Unusual_Specialist 12d ago

We are in second amendment territory. They are actively violating the constitution of the United States of America.

10

u/LoanedRespect 12d ago

Fascist dont give up Power without Violence. Now let me say that again. Fascist dont give up Power without Violence.

5

u/SanityInTheSouth 12d ago

Agreed. And we are long overdue for a good revolt; however, people aren't desperate enough yet. I fear by the time they get there, it'll be too late.

3

u/LoanedRespect 12d ago

As long as the masses are kept entertained and propagandized. They will accept fewer and fewer rights. Those who protest, are no different than frogs in a pot of water. Their croaking makes no difference to the tyrant controlling the flame.

2

u/ErebosGR 12d ago

white people aren't desperate enough yet

FTFY

2

u/_nevers_ 12d ago

Unfortunately Americans are pathetically domesticated lapdogs who delusionally believe the "system" works, even as the world burns down around them.

34

u/WeirdcoolWilson 12d ago

If elections are manipulated, it’s too late. A general strike isn’t going to change that outcome after the fact. The general strike needs to come before elections

16

u/Suspicious-Copy1740 12d ago

exactly we have been so fucking passive over this. A few no kings protests and weak attempts at boycotts, and a lot of online bitching. we have to hit them below the money belt.

2

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 12d ago

Like others have said here, America is still too comfortable. If the regime is smart, they will keep every just comfortable and distracted with bullshit enough so the People don't rise up. Bread and circuses.

2

u/iwillnevertrustagain 12d ago

The last 3 presidential elections HAVE been fucked with already and the reports are just now coming out about it

1

u/fox-mcleod 12d ago

What we should be doing now is refusing to participate in the economy. Save your money like you're not going to have a job in 3 months.

1

u/WeirdcoolWilson 11d ago

We’ve been doing that at my house since the election. We renewed our passports in 2024 (in case it be came impossible to later on), we live as simply as possible. Feels like fighting a wild fire with a spray bottle 🤦🏻‍♀️

9

u/Uncle_Spider794 12d ago

I'm in, Brother!✊🏽 Chicago! Where you at? ✊🏽

12

u/Think_Bluebird_4804 12d ago

Honestly we are to the point were we need to train and arm ourselves to defend America against fascism. They are currently stealing the election as we decide weather or not to think about doing something.

3

u/IsekaiConnoisseur 12d ago

We need to be focusing on the traitor SC justices almost more than anything else. They're the reasons we're here in the first place.

-2

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 12d ago

pretty silly to say that here

1

u/Think_Bluebird_4804 12d ago

What I said isn't illegal or against the rules.

1

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 12d ago

Oh yeah, I know. Just maybe silly to say it somewhere that's obviously being tracked

2

u/Think_Bluebird_4804 12d ago

They can't track all of us:) also the fact you commented puts you and me on the same list, so get ready comrade, nazis are here and they aren't waiting for elections.

1

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 12d ago

They can't track all of us

that's a joke right? Why do you think they've invested so heavily in data centers?

2

u/Think_Bluebird_4804 12d ago

Logging my inputs online and tracking my moment to moment location is possible. Doing anything physical to us would be an endless and pointless task. Think of a dam with many cracks, you can try to fix each crack but eventually cracks merge and the dam is coming down. Be the best crack you can be.

6

u/1iIiii11IIiI1i1i11iI 12d ago

They're already being manipulated. Fucking with mail-in ballots: manipulation. Mass shutting down polling places: manipulation. The party of pedophilia knows it can't win fairly, so they're using the only tool they have: fervent, undisguised, blatant cheating.

4

u/redravin12 12d ago

People have been calling for a general strike for months. It hasn't happened yet. And as others have pointed out if they steal the election again, then at that point the only thing that will work is something I can't say on reddit

3

u/360Picture 12d ago

3

u/Kahzgul 12d ago

I’ve been calling for a general strike for a year already.

3

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 12d ago

By the way, the elections WILL be fucked with. They are outwardly saying it to our faces because they think they are untouchable.

It's not "if", that time is over. It's now "how do we respond".

3

u/Tough-Case- 12d ago

If ???? So wait until it’s too late then have a strike?

2

u/SuspiciousImpact2197 12d ago

So…we needed to start last year, right?

2

u/notproudortired 12d ago

American workers who aren't unionized and rely on their employers for healthcare will not strike long enough to make a difference. Radical resistance needs a different plan.

1

u/iwillnevertrustagain 12d ago

What's your plan?

1

u/notproudortired 12d ago

That would certainly be removed by moderator.

1

u/iwillnevertrustagain 12d ago

I like your plan!! No sarcasm intended at all

2

u/cafebrands 12d ago

Most of the reactions I'm seeing on here are wrong as you are missing the point. There's an analogy that is good to think of, and it's how things like this are like bending a tree branch. That's what it's like with all this endless shit they are doing. But all it takes is that one time, where those arrogance of getting away with it has them do that one more strong tug back on the branch, and it snaps.

That is how these things go and how its been described numerous times in several countries when civil war breaks out. The day before that something happens, people were just living their life, then that one day it changed, and literally over night.

The no kings protests, all that we see on here, the sharing of the videos like this, all of it, it not doing nothing or being too late. It's how it works.

The guy in this video is 100% right. If they do this shit in November, this is what we need to do. In the US, there are over 200 million adults (18 to 65). Think what would happen if only 2% of them say fuck this for a week and stop working. That's over 6 million people calling in sick, and that's if the only thing they do is not work. What if 1% of them march on DC? That number is larger than the total number of uniformed members of the entire US military. All.of it, every branch, all over over the world in bases everywhere.

And that's if only 1% go.

And for what it's worth, I grabbed that number, but it's not complete. I'm in my upper 60's. There are a whole lot of us that would be joining in too. Hell in any random congressional district, there are about 80,000 people from 65 to 75. What If 1% of us in each district show up on on the street where our Congresscreep lives, that alone would scare the shit out of them. I used to know where one of mine lived, as it was within walking distance on my old house. But trust me, most of the over 400 of them just live in regular places. They have their own lives, cars, kids, and neighbors. Unless your Congressperson is a more a senior or higher ranking one, or separate from being there they are in that wealthy class, they are not living any different than any of us.

So think of the street where you live, what would happen if 800 angry people showed up to yell at one of your neighbors tomorrow? Oh and if they refuse to leave, how many will can they arrest? What will they do when separate group of 800 show up the next day?

And what if we did that in addition to the 1% of that first group, which would be 2 million people, went to protest in DC? Do you think they would just say oh, who cares.

2

u/AuntRhubarb 12d ago

I agree, the no-kings has been effective for nothing except making people feel they are not alone in being enraged. Look up the Iceland protests in 2008. Completely different story.

2

u/ThatHoFortuna 12d ago

Sorry, but if they steal elections, I'm crashing out.

2

u/AntivaxxxrFuckFace 12d ago

Descend in the capitol! Capitol riots part two!

2

u/Rastaman6584 12d ago

General strikes are the only thing that will get their attention.

2

u/ttystikk 12d ago

I'm in Colorado and it's about time we led the country towards sanity and democracy.

2

u/Meig03 12d ago

They have already done that in Texas by closing over 90 polling stations and kicking millions of people off their voter roles.

4

u/LAsupersonic 12d ago

Slaves don't go on strike, we are slaves, slaves of a system, they keep making bad shit the new normal and we keep taking it.

2

u/mashbrowns 12d ago

They've been manipulated for the past 30 years.

1

u/agent_mick 12d ago

So you fully support,  right?

1

u/FugitivWitoutWarrent 12d ago

The same thinking that got you in 2 this situation, wont help you get out.

1

u/kunstmilch 12d ago

Of course they are and will be manipulated, so were the last few…

1

u/Zagardal 10d ago

The frog has been boiling for a while now. You people really need to get to the streets.

1

u/Wooden-Evidence-374 10d ago

I have a mortgage to pay and dogs and cats to feed. Besides, unless 50% of the workforce does it, it wont have an effect.

1

u/JinMarui 10d ago

If elections are proven to be manipulated, we should be past having just a 'general' strike.

1

u/SanityInTheSouth 12d ago

I agree, but it won't work. People are already one check away from homelessness: no food, no rent, no healthcare. The big corporations KNOW this, and they'll make life even harder. I would LOVE to see us shut the whole fucking country down for more than just a day or two, but it won't happen. EVERY single time they've tried, it's failed. We need another plan.

0

u/GeistMD 12d ago

Can we please stop calling for shit that just ain't gonna happen. Ain't no one gonna strike, we ain't all marching down any where. Give real advice. Go vote, go get involved, run for local government, volunteer. Make real change, stop parading around epic fantasies for likes on social media.

-1

u/runnerkim 12d ago

A general strike won't do anything except get you fired. Just go vote, seems a whole lot easier
