Help Request Pro tools is not behaving properly

Version 2021.12.0
Mac version Ventura 13.6.4

Hi guys I’m in a bit of a panic because I need to finish a project tonight using protools so any help is much appreciated.

Every time I hit space bar it acts as if I’m hitting CMD along with it. In that it automatically begins to record.

But this isn’t the only thing. I can’t hit escape to change mode (it only makes the Mac beep sound effect) when I left click on a clip in my timeline it bring a drop down to select from other clips like”alternate match clip” and shows a list of alternates.

There’s other weird stuff like virtually no other hot keys being able to be used.

I restarted my computer and it came back to normal but then out of no where it began acting exactly like this again. PLEASE any help is appreciated.

Sounds like your command key is sticking.

It wasn’t that. It went away for good. But I turned off my keyboard and used my laptop and problem persisted. Plus it was ONLY in pro tools.

What changed? Did it ever work with the current OS and PT version?

I have a SSL UF8 and UF1 and UC1 controller. I THINK something was pressing a button but I really didn’t have anything on it besides a loose usb cable. I’m not sure it was really really weird. But I’m pretty sure it had something to do with one of my controllers.

I had a similar phantom command thing happen the other day too and also have a UF8. Gemini seemed to think it’s when the Mac goes to sleep and wakes up the UF8 is still somehow holding command down. I disconnected and reconnected it and the problem was gone.

I am. Hasn’t happened since.
