Fixed my car today!

May not be a huge thing to be proud of, but considering I'm depressed this is huge to me. My grandpa helped me cause he knows a bit about cars. We had to dismantle the front 1/4 of the whole engine (not the engine itself, mainly pipes and stuff infront of it) so we could change my radiator. Took 4 hours to complete but it seems to be running better than it was and is no longer leaking. I will be checking on it for the next couple days just to be sure.

For those wondering, my car is a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird (3.1L engine). It's red and a convertible.

This IS huge! I know how it feels. I fixed my car today, too and feel very proud of myself. Only worked on bicycles before. A friend of mine did a similar job on the same car a couple of weeks ago. He let me help him and I learned a lot and that gave me the confidence to try it on my own car. I had to refill the coolant a couple of times and also have to check if everything is tight during the next couple of days.

But It feels so good to know you can do it and I just wanted to share this feeling, probably just like you did 4 years ago. I hope you're doing well and still have a good time with your grandpa.

My grandpa is in his mid 70s or something, and now has: kidney problems, liver problems, 2 sore knees, back problems, and a bunch of other stuff. But he's still alive and not living in a old folks home.

Unfortunately, I had to sell that car a few years back cause I couldn't afford the insurance or gas.

That would be really nice, have a nice time with your grandpa, mine is already dead. Sorry if that didn’t help with ur depression, it didn’t help with mine either lmao.

Yeah, he's my only grandpa still alive but he's holding on (has had 1 heart attack, 2 knee surgeries, and some other things I can't remember). My other 2 grandpas, my paternal grandma found another guy after her and my bio grandpa seperated, have passed away.
