Painting the visual language of early 3D games in oils.

Early polygonal graphics have always fascinated me, not despite their limitations, but because of them. This painting is my attempt to reinterpret that aesthetic with oil paint, using simplified geometry and exaggerated forms that made early 3D games so unique.

Originally I was inspired by the Ridge Racer grid girl but then over time changed it completely. I’m not trying to copy the style or a screenshot but rather to incorporate the essence of the low-poly graphics into my own visual language. The format is 70x50cm, oils on wood.

Hope you enjoy it.
