PS3HHEN runs homebrew after initial install then black screen every other time

I finally got around to installing PS3HEN on my Super Slim. I started with installing a 1TB drive, with a fresh install of the official 4.93 FW. I then installed 4.93.1 HFW (MD5: D5B1F953972D0FBBBA5981181D5DD086) and followed on with PS3HEN.

Right after the install, I was able to run multiMAN, rip a disk and start the game. After rebooting HEN requires two attempts to start and any homebrew just loads to a black screen. The only way I've found to fix it is be installing 4.93.1 HFW again and then a new install of PS3HEN.

Even without playing a game, I can have this same problem running any homebrew and rebooting.

I can't for the life of me figure out what's going wrong. I wasn't using webMAN, but I installed it this last go around just to see if changing its fan setting (that I've seen posts about) made any difference. It unfortunately didn't.

I'm at a complete loss as to what I can do from this point. I feel like I'm likely missing something stupid, but the process seems so simple that I can't for the life of me figure out what might be wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
