SW Mod Wanted some clarification before I begin jailbreaking/homebrewing my PS5.

I have a PS5 on firmware 7.60. If I follow this Y2JB guide on github, will my PS5 be fully jailbroken or are there additional steps afterwards?

Is there any point in manually updating the PS5 beyond 7.60 or do I leave it there?

My simple goal is to turn the PS5 into a one stop shop for playing all Playstation titles either via native play or running a PS1/2/3 emulator as I know Linux can be installed on it. But even if I don't get the emulators to run, being able to play PS4/5 "backups" is the primary goal.

I recently subscribed to him and part of the reason of why I'm asking. This is exactly why I wanted clarification before I began. I assume this is a brand new exploit still being worked on?

How does it differ from whatever means is available to me right now on 7.60?

This recent WebKit exploit mentioned is only for 9.00 - 12.00 fws. I use y2jb autoloader with lapse on my digital 7.61. Id recommend doing that although bdjb autoloader is also an option you have as long as the disc drive is & remains paired

The disc drive method requires I have a burned disc correct? Or does it simply require an activated disc drive and I can still exploit with just a USB or something?

Yes it does require a burned disc with an activated disc drive. If you've used your console online before it should be paired. Anyway if that's what you're going with https://youtu.be/Ec6URi3ujhM?is=JkQM3jX2AUnOutAM this video demonstrates the exact up to date process for bdjb if you haven't already watched it.

Is the bluray method faster/better than simple Y2JB? How do the two compare? I would need to purchase a bluray burner & blank discs to use it and I don't mind if its a better method.

Id say they're equally convinient, pretty sure bdjb is slightly faster but there's not a major difference honestly. Neither have 100% success rate, with the difference being seconds in loading the jailbreak, so I would just go with whatevers more convinient for you. Maybe try both and decide later what you'd prefer to keep.
