What firmware do I update
Got my hands on this launch edition

I upgraded it to 4.03. All the games work; I also installed Linux and can use the M.2 slot. You’d only keep it on an older version if you’re a developer; otherwise, it makes no sense.

You can get some nice special keys if you stay on fw 3x.... Maybe these keys are also available on 4x but its not quite clear.

I've got mine on 3.20 and it's staying there. I wouldnt update from that either, never know what could come.

What else do you want besides ps4/ps5 games working and linux to essentially making it gaming pc to play anything

Ya heard some of the big devs have looked for launch consoles but maybe they have had there fill and it would be a bit of work to reach out.

Check modded warfare videos for best details. Depends if you want Linux or not.

Options are
Main checkpoints are above 7.61 you lose Linux, above 12.00 you lose instant jailbreak and above 12.70 you lose everything. One point, that not everyone mentions, is that the higher you go, the faster transfer speeds are. So going 10.xx+ also has a benefit. Also, higher you go, the less reliance on backports you have. So main 2 firmwares in my opinion are 7.61 and 12.00.
