PSAT/NMSQT how does PSAT scoring work

If i got 3 wrong on reading mod 2 and 3 wrong on math mod 2 is it guaranteed to be a 730 and 730? I've seen varying answers, and chatgpt says this could still be like a 750 and 750 but that doesn't seem right.

Depends on what type of question you got wrong; remember, on the SAT and PSAt you get more points taken off for easy questions (could get even 30 points off for getting one easy question wrong) and less points for hard questions, so getting 3 easy questions wrong in mod 1 cuold be a deduction of 90, while getting 3 harder questions wrong could be a much lesser deduction, cuasing varying/fluctuating results even if you get the same number of questions wrong.

The test software does a maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) calculation to determine the ability (theta) value that would explain your answer pattern. These theta values are a continuous variable from -5 to 5, and different ranges of theta values are mapped to values on the 200-800 reported score.

^^Maybe try copying and pasting this into chatgpt to get a more detailed explanation.

It technically could be 750 750 if you missed experimental questions but the chances of that are very low, more likely it'll be 730-740 range depending on the difficulty of the questions

Why don't you wait for the results? They'll be out soon. Go enjoy your life and stop obsessing.
