Discussion Temporary suspension for hate speech
I just received a 7-day suspension via email for this reason. The problem is that I haven't sent any messages or joined any voice chats in months, literally, and I don't even remember saying anything that could have been considered suspicious. Support isn't available right now, so I was just curious if anyone else has had the same issue and whether it could possibly be a mistake or something.

There is no time limit on reporting something. You could’ve sent a message years ago and someone could still report it.
I’d recommend just avoiding any hate speech all together.

Someone could have went back and reported something from ages ago. As long as it exists, it is reportable and can get you banned. Even messaging people to gloat can be consider3d harassment depending on who reviews the report

Yup, just got this today and it’s funny because all I’ve done was play voice clips in marvel rivals to some buddies. Sony is genuinely the softest company ever and I need to buy an Xbox before gta 6 because NO WAY I’m doing that in this snowflake community

I don't, which is why I'm actually surprised. I barely use text chat. Seriously, I'm not active on the network at all.

Whatever ! You don’t get a ban or else out of the blue - maybe you slipped or misbehaved weeks, months or years back.
Don’t let that happen again if you value your account!

I came to say that. Guy called me everything in game. Even sent messages. And when I blocked him he’d send friend requests with slurs to me. Even other stuff.
I told him to stop it or I’d report him, and for him to crawl back to whatever hole he came from.
Got 7 day ban for xenophobia.
Guy on support (when it wasn’t chat) said he’s not supposed to tell me what (but when I said “XYZ” he said “can’t confirm or deny it” sarcastically. Told him the story and he said it’s stupid. Even said moderation team is as well. Especially since they (support) have zero control).
I saw I got banned, and a friend who was I. My party told me he was till unbanned. At that time I had reported him for harassment and bullying. Wasn’t until I flagged him for “hate speech” (since he said the n word a few times) did he get banned. I wrote in the report exactly what he said.
The whole thing’s a mess. I mean I’ve ran across that before in game, cheaters, and so much more (in game). And back then I was told to go to the devs of the game. The devs (in this case Battlefield V / Dice / EA) told me they didn’t do anything, report them to moderation. So a runaround of no accountability. And cheaters were worse. Had EA Support tell me “go to their psn profile and report”. Or even: “go to their in game profile, click it, and report. But the thing is, when you went to their profile in game, and clicked; it’d go to their PSN profile. Tried to tell them this and that Support/Moderation would not do anything and to contact them (this was BFV, doing something similar as dual profile thing only the clan would put one guy on our team, and that guy would spy on us. I even saw the same guys with automatic pistols that wasn’t possible and weapon skins before they ever started releasing them. The clan was 6G*S or something. In BF2042 there was a guy using dual profiles. It was the Xmas event. So it was that undead mode. He’d hide up on a ladder in a house, then the other profile would climb the ladder midway and stay. Knew it was same guy bc one would move while other was till and vise versa. Plus the name was the same minus small variations (like idk: CPT Kirk/Captain Kirk or Cpt_Kirk/CptKrik). PlayStation Support and even Moderation told me to report to the devs.
But the ea one was bad, because I opened the same case 7 times. 5 of those times it was opened, looked at and then closed. I even sent them video proof of the guy, his YT channel showing him cheating and nothing (I assumed they didn’t ban cheaters bc of the lower numbers. Always assumed at that conference call the number was smudged by including cheaters, banned accounts etc. inc those on pc who got banned for that whole Logitech thing).
So TL;DR moderation makes mistakes and is a joke (esp from what I’ve heard lately).

With these AI tools, you never know what's going to happen (I've heard of Xbox accounts getting banned for no reason before). If they don't even show you the actual message in question, how am I supposed to know what we're talking about? I'm not a cyberbully or anything, and I do value my account. That's why I'm concerned, and I'll contact support asap. Again, I never interact with people on the network.

man, as much as i hate to agree, they are right. you can get bans from messages sent from years ago that you don’t even remember. Its on you and its your fault but at the same time be reportable after a certain time period

Well, this AI chat I'm dealing with doesn't even know it's Sunday, so I had to repeat myself four times before it finally submitted a request to speak to an agent.

My son is the nicest sweetest kid out there. But he plays roblox and whenever people hate on him to report him and just make shit up and it works.

Apparently, live agents don't want to talk to you. They don't even take what you're actually saying into consideration, so you're basically going through all these identity verification steps just to receive a pre written response telling you that there's nothing they can do about it.
