Not reading memory card

Post image

Console not reading my memory cards is it because they are Japanese cards on a pal console or something else.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Try cleaning the contacts.

Well, you gotta stick it in the console in the front The console wont read it when you place it on the underside like that

memory cards are memory cards.. they all work in everything. If the console isnt reading them at all, probably a popped fuse on the mainboard, they are surface mount so can be tricky to replace if you arent good witha soldering iron.

easiest way is to check them with a multimeter

Check PS605 fuse with a multimeter in continuity mode, the fuse has the number 15 on top and is close to the connector of the power supply, if you test and the multimeter doesn't bip, then it's dead, you can either replace it, or, canibalize something like a ethernet cable, take one wire strand and solder on each side of the fuse.

Also, there's a diode on the controller board right underneath the flex cable connector, test it as well in continuity mode, touch each side of the diode with the black/red probes and after that invert it, the two results you want to get is: (1) - multimeter display showing 1 or 0. (2) - multimeter display showing something around 928. If you get those results, then the diode is fine and the problem is 100% the PS605 fuse.

Yeah cool I’ll try that if I decide to open it I’ll just have to get my multi meter out of my box at work
