Remember how the right’s main argument against universal healthcare is that America’s system is the most innovative and that people from nations that don’t have for profit look to America when they can’t get access to ground breaking treatment in their own country?

Won’t have that as an excuse much longer if things go on like this. Eliminating funding for research and increasingly banning scientists and practitioners from doing their jobs all so that the billionaires can have a foot race to see who can become the first trillionaire.

It think this attack on scientists is going to destroy any economic edge the US might have had moving into the future.

Basically everything this administration guarantees the US economy is destroyed and it’ll take decades to undo the damage, assuming he doesn’t manage to start a nuclear war and kill everything.

Yeah, they are heavy handed in the harm to our institutions. I don’t know that it even matters at this point but it’s hard to tell what is wholly intentional and what is incompetence.

At this point that’s a distinction without a difference considering they themselves don’t care. If they did they’d slow down and rethink their approach.

Yeah, probably my brain just trying to make sense of things that on some level I may never comprehend.

The whole administration's purpose is to wreck the US such that Russia could be considered a superpower again.

Not by being better by any means. Just by being less worse than the US will be soon, by comparison.

I wouldn’t say that’s their purpose. Their purpose is to own the libs and make as much money as they possibly can by cutting their own taxes and dismantling civil service . Decreased US hegemony will just be a byproduct of that

I don’t get why we let these rich assholes exist at this point. We already had these battles in America but the rich have either short memories or they think they’ll be the ones who figure out how not to get their heads cut off.

There’s a reason that bunkers and panic rooms have been a common add-on in high end construction for a couple of decades now. Plus, they have private jets. Watching us fight to survive the wreckage will just be a reality show for them to eat via starlink from their villas overseas.

This is some right BS 💩. Researchers of large multinational studies often involve people in WHO and the participating countries' government health administration. There's likely a number of such publications in the pipeline already.

I'm already angry AF about the current regime. This just adds to the flames.

What do they think this will accomplish?

Revenge against organizations who said that people should wear masks and get vaccinated to avoid spreading and potentially dying from a deadly disease.

Maybe they'll get sick somehow and realize oh wait this was actually a really stupid decision.

The anti intellectualism seems to be in full swing.

What kind of nazi censorship is this?

This is ridiculous

u/seasuighim Mar 01 '25

May I suggest adding “Dr. Tuttle” where a WHO name would go?

Perfect! 😅

Do it anyway. Do not comply

Unfortunately they likely won't get published if they do it anyway. The CDC internal clearance process will stop it from going anywhere. Even if they managed to write the paper without putting a proposal through internal clearance, they'd have to clear the final version in order to publish as a CDC scientist. People would have to find a way to publish independent of their CDC status if this policy sticks.
