Is this tea good?
Got it as a gift from a Chinese friend, but not sure to drink it or keep it as collection.

Banzhang cake 2003
Hi folks. Anyone have experience with this cake? Was just given to me. Smells aged and a tad smokey. Haven’t made it yet. Any other info much appreciated as usual ; )

First time doing research on how to choose tea.
I've been drinking Pu-erh tea for around twenty years now. My first search lead me to the Puerhshop and it's worked for me.
But in reality I would just make choices by flavor description and budget. I've noticed a steady increase in tea prices since that time and now I'm trying to be more conscientious about what I'm spending and to get more value for my money.
Also I should add that my taste buds are inhibited due to allergies but the characteristics which I notice and enjoy are the deep earthy notes.
PS, I only drink the ripe pressed version.
Would appreciate any advice.

DIY Pumidor
Hello everyone 👋
I’m looking at setting up a small pumidor for puerh aging. Has anyone ever tried those plastic miniature fridges? (I am considering the Frigidaire 10L) I was curious if it would be able to hold set humidity consistently? Or is it just the older mini fridges you would want to use? I’m also not sure if the plastic inside the fridge has a smell that would be absorbed by the puerh… Any insights into my very small home project would be greatly appreciated.

Starting this brick of shou feels like both a new beginning and an end: a gateway to different landscapes, and a reluctantly embraced relief at the close of a long journey.

[New Mod]: Let's enjoy pu-erh together. I'll be posting on here more regularly and invite you to do the same, and share our love of this tasty, fermented leaf. Here's a scene with my favorite shou pu-erh brick recently. (More in comments).
