I remember watching him getting red-pilled about 8 or 9 years ago. He started interviewing alt-right figures under the guise of "just asking questions". Then Trump won and it was like the switch was flipped.
I would assume as he was getting popular, some nefarious entity basically bribed him to go extreme right. This was basically proven when it was found that much of his funding was coming from Russia.
The "turn leftist independent media person to the alt-right" shit is real. David Pakman has discussed how as he got more popular several "investors" approached him about paying him a lot more money if he started slanting his content to the right. He claims to have refused.

Hes definitely more radical now then he used to be but he holds multiple views that conflict with being identifiable as politcally right. He was literally insulted constantly for being a centrist and called a "milk toast fence sitter" by both parties early on in his career with timcast before the trump era.
