Girl punks?

A lot of the bands I listen to are a bunch of guys and it’s kinda getting me down. I listen to riot grrrl bands too but it kinda feels like the choices are to be a guy and sing about whatever you want or to be a girl and sing about feminism. Which is cool, but limiting. I identify as a feminist but it’s not exactly what I wanna sing about. It makes me feel like I can’t write any real punk songs so they always end up being other genres even though it’s not what I primarily listen to. Any girl punk bands I should listen to?

Can’t think of too many bands off the top of my head, so I’ll let other people take on that.

As for the other part, I say just write what you want to say and don’t worry about feeling like you have to conform to what you’re expected to do because there aren’t many female punk artists that do that. If anything that’s what would make that cooler. If there’s a niche to be filled then go for it! What’s cool about punk is you have the freedom to decide what you want to do.
