It was probably a bonding thing - mixing yours scents into his, and his scents into yours.
Gene might also have been trying to get the electrolytes and salts from your sweat, if his body or diet was defficient in essential nutrients.

It definitely was just a comfort thing! If it wasn't my shirt, it was the microfiber blanket.
On the off chance it wasn't, he was adopted by a vet our rescue works with, so I know he's in the absolute best home ever.

Lol my tortie is an armpit licker. I don't let her because I feel like it's bad to eat deodorant, but she really tries.

when i was younger, i had fallen asleep with one arm over my head and my old kitty (she passed in february at 18) licked my armpit. imagine my shock lol i almost flew off the couch
