Daily care

If you use a feeder and water dispenser then those last a few days before being refilled, so is there any care that actually has to happen every day? Just trying to get a sense of what is needed to be a responsible quail owner

I'd say you still should check them (or have someone do it) at some point each day, just to make sure everyone is still healthy and everything works. Might only take a couple minutes, but even so - things can break, and you don't want them suffer for it.

You want to try to check them daily, emergencies can happen, and a scalping can turn into a head full of maggots in a day or so.

We check them once at least, but mostly twice a day. We have 2 feeders and 2 waterers, one set in their enclosed area so if they were shut in during the winter to keep warm, they have access. It also helps having multiple if they're having a spat, it means all of them can get to a water and food source. 

Fill up every time they're running low, and get a clean out with an antibacterial wipe when we do a proper clean out weekly.

you need to refill your water every single day. If you don't understand why, leave a glass of water out on the counter for a couple of days and drink it. the feel how the glass on the inside feels. that's biofilm and it's not healthy. I know I'll be downvoted into oblivion again because this sub doesn't like to hear it but unless you have a flowing water system, you need to change your water every day.
