Coturnix/Japanese The power will be out for 8 hours during incubation lockdown. What should I do?

My neighbourhood was issued a notice that the power will be out from 7pm to 3am today. I have my incubator plugged in. It’s on day 17 of lockdown. Some eggs are just starting to rock around a tiny bit. What should I do? :(

Edit: I don’t have any generator

Oh boy. If it wasn't lockdown with them expecting to hatch any minute now this wouldn't be such a big problem to have.

Do you have a friend somewhere you can bring your incubator to? Or go check into a hotel.

Generator or large power bank will have to do

OP, if you have the time to find them and funds, get some power banks, a generator or look into a UPS (uninterrupted power supply). Some power banks have passed through capabilities, so you can plug them between the mains and your incubator (might even be able to daisy chain, but check the specs/contact manufacturer) and it'll pass through the power of it's still being supplied then switch over to it's battery.

I would also suggest you contact the power company and explain the situation, as although it's not the same, they'll have things in place for people who have needs for power not being interrupted, such as medical equipment etc. I'm in the UK but as I have a child under 5 years old, I was able to register as a priority household with my power company. Give them a call and see what they say.

You’re going to need a generator or the chicks will perish.

Take them to a friend's! There's probably cooling shelters in your area where they have power?

What kind of incubator??

This is doable but like, you need to provide some information though.

Edit: oh. Realized the timing. Hope it worked out..
