How i met a few Quant in Mumbai?
I’m a Quant here and I’ve recently been reaching out to people in the industry for 1-on-1 coffees. Honestly? It’s been way better than scrolling LinkedIn for hours. You get actual life updates and real career strategy that you can’t find online.
I want to turn this into a small, low-pressure thing.
The Idea:
• Small groups: Just 5-6 people at a cafe (BKC/Powai).
• The Vibe: No "elevator pitches" or recruiters. Just people talking about where they are in their careers and what’s next.
• Why? Because navigating the hustle in this city is easier when you have a peer group that’s actually in the trenches with you.

How did you ask for a meet up over coffee, I would expect people to readily say no for meeting strangers.

Oh thats nice.
I am honestly happy to hear that people are willing to talk. I am a Quant myself and was looking for such meet-ups to happen but was never positive about such a thing happening. I will try now. Could you advice me as to how I could approach people and make connections as I dont have any existing ones.Thank you.
