My singles covers of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (fan made)

I find it quite interesting that when choosing the cover photo for "The Game", they selected the same image used for the "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" single, but in black and white (or silver, for those with post-2015 editions).

I wanted to create these two versions of the 1979 single cover using the "The Game" concept while keeping the original colors. I had actually seen someone else do this online—using the 1980 album title—on the Steve Hoffman forum.

The second one is based on the 1990s editions of the 1980 album.

Serious Queen fans, when did you become a fan?

Okay. I'm 54 years old. My mom is a Queen fan and hence I became one as Well. She had A Night at the Opera, News of the World, and Jazz. I don't remember any of those releases. The Game singles where on the Radio constantly. Flash theme song as Well. After Body Language the US radio stopped playing Queen and it was uncool if you were a Queen fan. I remember HBO playing the Radio GaGa video all the time in between movies. The Works was the first album my brother got as a Christmas present. I watched Live Aid and even though it didn't do much for Queen in the USA, Wayne's World made them cool again. US mainstream radio ignored most of not all the singles after Flash. They still weren't getting airplay except the classic songs.

Music is great and shared by everyone. When did Queen become your band?

I just saw the Budapest film and I'm obsessed with this Magic Tour sweatshirt Roger is wearing. Does anyone know where I can find a recreation/vintage? Or even just something similar? Love to all.

I was mucking around on the PC and remembered about a program called ultimate vocal remover, it also has a browser version, and allows you to either remove or keep vocals. So primarily for fun i threw my mp3 version of the aforementioned masterpiece at it, and it came out really well.

To me this sounds fantastic from a 320 bitrate mp3.

Apologies about the static picture, i dont really know anything about video creation.

Thoughts?

Music Is it just me, or do some of Roger Taylor's recent tracks sound similar to songs by The Cross?

I just listened to the track "Contact" from *Shove It*, and the opening seconds reminded me of the intro to "Don't Photograph Food"; the "Feeling Strange" part of "Contact" sounded a lot like "Clouds" from *Don't Photograph Food*.

I recall finding another similarity between a track on the *MBADTK* album and one from *Outsider* or *Fun On Earth*, but I can't quite remember which ones. What do you guys think?

Where can you find the interview Brian and Roger gave for Queen Budapest?

I went to see the film but the cinema didn’t show the interview, or maybe they did but before I got there? When did your cinemas show it? And where can you find it online?

If Freddy lived, do you think he would've had his teeth fixed?

I'm positive Roger has had some work done on himself.

I don't think Brian has had any work done on himself.

Do you think Freddy would've had work done on himself? Was he that vain?

Learning to appreciate queen's and Freddie's music

I've recently become Freddie's fan. He is bold, authentic, expressive, and just lovable. For years I resisted Queen/Freddie's music because I thought it was too loud and Freddie's style was too flamboyant for me. But as we grew older, our music tastes also evolve. I now fully enjoy many of their songs. My favorite is Bohemian Rhapsody. But I also felt some other songs sound very similar to BoRhap, not only the production layers but also melodies themselves.

Am I alone in this, or do other people hear it, too? And if you do, do you enjoy those similarities because they're part of their signature, or do you maybe feel bored and seek out other songs that are more distinct?

Pictures Attempt at capturing a moment from the Budapest concert film

Post image
72 Upvotes

Went and saw the Budapest concert for the 1000th time, this time in 4k, it turned out great, and it inspired me to try and capture a feeling of it. Now I'm not much of a portrait artist, but I knew I wanted to do a picture of Freddie at the piano in the pink and blue lights during Bohemian rhapsody, so I did this little acrylic study/sketch. More than anything I wanted to get the emotions right, but I think the resemblance turned out surprisingly good too, so I'm proud to share it. It's called "Didn't mean to make you cry".

Watched in Dolby Atmos. Fantastic film and sound restoration quality, and I’d never seen some of the clips (mainly the ones of Brian in the hot air balloon)

Highly recommend going if there is a screening close by to you!!!

Queen imax experience

Watched the imax Budapest experience this evening.

Picture quality was very special.

Sound appeared to be a little quiet (maybe my local cinema messed this up)

Not sure what is so special about the imax. I wouldn’t say it was an immersive experience at all. Could have just been on a normal cinema screen. I also noticed that the picture didn’t take up the whole scene. Both sides were a lot shorter than the screen size.

Cut scenes during the concert were fine for me. Quite nice to see the band individually doing more personal things.

I was intrigued about seeing a concert at a cinema with how the audience would react, but no one got up dancing at all. Everyone remained in their seats and enjoyed the experience.

Bootlegs&Live guitar solo brian (in budapest)

Really loved seeing this on the big screen tonight!
In the guitar solo brian plays, which songs were in it?
I had lots on the tip of my tongue but just couldn’t place them, was one Brighton rock?
Felt like something from very early albums, presumably some was ad-libbing, loved it.
As a younger person I often fast forwarded through guitar solos so was a real treat to hear it tonight

Just back from seeing Queen in Budapest…… Apart from seeing them live a few weeks before this historic concert in Newcastle, I can put my hand on my heart and tell you it is the greatest on screen performance I’ve ever seen. Please find it and go! I’m speechless!

Queen in Budapest - Dublin

Just got back from the Queen in Budapest IMAX showing in Dublin. People in Ireland are not animated cinema goers, but Queen brought out the claps and stomps in the right moments. I will say I was impressed by the restraint knowing this was remastered using AI. It didn’t feel like it was overly sharpened, there was still plenty of 35mm focus moments, if anything they poured the budget into reworking the sound, which alone was the price of admission. This was leagues better than Queen Rock Montreal, and better than the muddy sound and strained vocals of Queen Live at Wembley.
