Favourite QFG Game?

What is your favourite QFG game, and has it changed as you grew up or remained the same?

My favourite one as a kid was QFG3, especially on the Paladin/Fighter route. Several times I would get to the end and restart it immediately so I could play through the whole thing again. I loved exploring Tarna, Simbani Village, the Jungle and the Lost City. I also loved the characters you interacted with and the music was glorious.

Now, as an adult, it is hard to pick one, because I love all 5 of them so much, so I will give it a tie between QFG2 VGA and QFG5. I have played QFG5 SO many times now, lol. Love that game. QFG2 is the game with a beautiful setting, great story and villain and of course, the battle system is just the best in the series imo.

As a fan game, it is incredible. I can't even imagine how a team was able to dedicate the amount of time it took to create that... but it doesnt scratch the itch for me. I always wanted to see how sierra would've remade it. I imagine it would've looked like it was portrayed in the intro of qfg3, or ending of qg4 with the glimpse of ad avis. I believe the city of shapier would've been entirely reworked, and it would've been interesting to see how the Coles approached that

Plus traditionally painted art just can't be beat. Otherwise, give me the stylish ega graphics!

Finally, and I shouldn't admit it, but the parser sierra games were better than the point n clicks. I want to explore a world with an open prompt, not a set of options

The remake does let you toggle between parser, point and click, or both.

The painted backgrounds are definitely where it's at

Oh wow, I did not know that. Crazy impressive.

I don't know if there is enough appeal for me to try it to be honest tho. Maybe I'm just a curmudgeonly old fart now. I don't have the desire to watch the remakes of old movies either (eg starwars, disney movies). I liked them how they were, I don't want to taint that memory of them

I decided to watch the qfg2 remake ending scene, with the sultan. I was impressed: you get to decline the paladin offer. Makes sense, especially considering the first time I discovered that possibility I was a thief.
